Senator Lowe Finney Weds

U.S. Senate candidate Mike Padgett breaks the news and offers congratulations:

The very best of wishes to state Sen. Lowe Finney and his beautiful bride, Tiffany Staggs, who were wed earlier today at the chapel on the Lambuth University campus in Jackson.

Lowe has been a good friend both personally and politically. He has a big future ahead as a leader in Tennessee Democratic politics, and Tiffany will make a wonderful “first adviser.”

State Senator Tim Burchett Is Hitched

It was reportedly scheduled for September 6th but the lovebirds Senator Tim Burchett and Allison Beaver apparently just couldn’t wait for the wedded bliss to begin. The couple were wed today in a ceremony officiated by Governor Phil Bredesen after a bill signing in Knoxville today.

If you’re around Legislative Plaza this morning and have a hankering for a piece of history in the form of baked goods, I am told that the staff of House Majority Leader Gary Odom are dispensing the leftover wedding cake from Leader Odom’s wedding out in front of his office on a first come, first served basis.

While there are still certainly a myriad of potential roadblocks to his running for or winning a statewide race in Tennessee, one thing is for sure, Harold Ford, Jr. has solved his “bachelor problem“:

Around 300 guests, including the elite of Memphis and Washington, gathered at Miami’s Trinity Cathedral Episcopal Church Saturday to witness the nuptials of Harold Ford, Jr. and socialite Emily Threlkeld. The lavish ceremony included a total of 26 attendants for the bride and groom.

Eligible bachelor and former Tennessee congressman Harold Ford Jr. is being taken off the market Saturday. The dashing Democrat plans to marry Emily Threlkeld in Miami. Threlkeld is a fashion designer and stepdaughter of former Morgan Stanley Chairman Anson Beard. We’re told the couple invited 300 guests to the wedding, to be held at an Episcopal church in the sun capital. A rep for Ford confirmed the nuptials.
