Governor Sarah Palin On Ron Paul: “He’s Cool”

Posted on August 31, 2008 at 5:52 pm

MTV Street Team: Well, a lot of students asked me to ask you, Ron Paul, cult-following in Alaska….

Governor Sarah Palin: He’s cool. He’s a good guy. He’s a good guy. He’s so independent. He’s independent of like the party machine, I’m like, right on, so am I. The party machinery, on both sides of the party, ya know, Americans are tiring of the incessant partisanship that gets in the way of just doing the right thing for this country.

Harold Ford, Jr. Calls For Democratic Unity Ticket

Posted on May 7, 2008 at 8:08 am

Former Congressman and Senate candidate, Harold Ford, Jr., now chairman of the Democratic Leadership Council, suggests that being a “numbers guy” makes him a believer in the formidable nature of a joint Barack Obama/Hillary Clinton ticket. GoldnI translates what Ford is really saying:

“I’m aware that this is pretty much over and that Obama is going to win, but I can’t say that because that would piss off my DLC buddies. On the other hand, I can’t come out for Clinton because that would royally piss off the Memphis base that I need to support me if I ever run for office again. So I’ll just keep pushing for this ‘joint ticket’ so I won’t have to publicly decide.”

Capital Hill Chaos: Speaker Jimmy Naifeh Overruled [VIDEO]

Posted on May 2, 2008 at 6:27 pm

Posted above, for your perusal and enjoyment and that of posterity, is a video of the recent unpleasantness that took place on the floor of the General Assembly yesterday.

It is still lengthy but, in light of the considerable confusion over the controversey, I thought it best to leave as much of the events intact as possible.

Fred Thompson Declares He Would Not Accept The Vice-Presidency If Offered

Posted on April 25, 2008 at 8:14 am

From The Hill report on the Hannity & Colmes interview:

“That’s not in the cards,” Thompson said. “That’s not what I want. Well…and I don’t think that call [from McCain] would ever happen. I think John needs somebody else. I would advise him if he asked me that he needs someone else, of a different profile. The presidency is the only job in town that’s worth going through what you got to go through to get it, including the vice presidency….”

This is pronouncement is interesting given reports that Thompson’s ill-fated presidential campaign actually snowballed out from an attempt to raise his profile so as to be in the mix to get such a nod.
