Corker Keynotes South Carolina GOP Annual Event

Posted on May 16, 2009 at 7:41 pm

From the Charleston Post and Courier:

“Contrary to popular opinion, I actually think this is a great time to be a Republican,” Corker said. “There haven’t been too many times in our nation’s history when Republicans had a more important role to play.

“We are facing a terrible economic crisis, and at the helm is an administration that unfortunately does not share some of our core beliefs. This new administration fundamentally believes in a much-bigger government, fundamentally believes in less individual freedom and in the redistribution of wealth. Bottom line: They believe in equal outcomes while we believe in equal opportunity.”

Tennessee Democrats Are Not Baby-Killing, Gun-Stealing Tree Huggers

Good to know:

On political matters, [Rep. John] Litz agreed with Tennessee Democratic Party Chairman Chip Forrester’s anticipated role in doing more grass-roots organizing, while other Democrats take on fund raising and candidate recruitment.

“I think we’ve allowed the Republican Party to tell people what we are … (and) it’s not a true picture,” Litz claimed. “The Democratic Party I believe in is a big tent. We have some people who are far, far to the left, but we have some people who are very conservative. I would consider myself a moderate conservative. … I don’t think the Tennessee Democratic Party that I’m a part of is like a California Democrat. We’re not baby-killing, gun-stealing tree huggers.”

Limbaugh Implies RNC Chair Shares Some Sort Of Solidarity With The President

Anybody know what Rush might be getting at here:

“Why are you running the Republican Party?” Limbaugh openly asked Steele. “Why do you claim you lead the Republican Party, when you seem obsessed with seeing to it that President Obama succeeds? I, frankly, am stunned that the chairman of the Republican National Committee endorses such an agenda. I have to assume that he does because he attacks me for wanting it to fail.”

RELATED: Why Rush is on the attack.

UPDATE: Rush completes the punking by getting an apology from Steele.
