Sex Crimes, Belle Meade and Metro Schools

Posted on April 7, 2009 at 2:36 pm

The big story from Ken Whitehouse:

The investigation into Levine started March 25 when Metro Sex Crimes Detective Jeff Wiser received information from a concerned parent. After interviewing a number of individuals, including minors, Wiser was told of a building on Levine’s property known as the “Little House.” There, teenagers are alleged to have smoked marijuana, consumed alcohol and engaged in sexual activity.

Wiser also was informed that teenagers would have sex in the main house, where one room was known as the “Isolation Chamber.” It contained a waterbed with a wooden box over it.

The information provided to Wiser came from present-day teenagers, as well as those who were teens in the 1970s and ’80s. They all provided similar information in regard to sex and drug activity at Levine’s home. Some of those individuals told of Levine videotaping sexual encounters, while others said they were shown what appeared to be homemade sex videos.

Burning It Down In Da ‘Boro

First, it was the Rutherford County Republican headquarters. Now, vandals have struck the headquarters of the Democratic Party in Murfreesboro. Is this a coordinated attack on our political system?

“It’s time to call a truce,” said John Wiseman, a Murfreesboro area retiree who serves as on the Democrat Party’s Tennessee State Executive Committee as a representative for Rutherford, Bedford and Moore counties. “This is senseless. What happened to the Republican office and what happened (to the Democratic party office) has nothing to do with real campaigning or politics.”

A vandal had thrown a brick with an anarchy symbol on it at the Republican Headquarters on the Public Square following a party event there Monday night.

No similar object was found at the Democratic Headquarters at 520 W. Lytle St., Wiseman said.

For Senator Jim Tracy:

The Jim Tracy for State Senate Campaign is pleased to announce that former U.S. Senator Fred Thompson will attend a campaign fundraiser in Murfreesboro on Saturday, August 23, 2008 from 4PM-6PM at the home of Shane & Amanda Reeves.

“I am honored to have Fred Thompson campaign for me in my race for the State Senate,” Jim Tracy said. “He is an iconic figure in Tennessee politics and is in great demand throughout the country. In the U.S. Senate, Fred worked across party lines to produce positive results for the people of Tennessee. I have worked hard at the state level to accomplish the same goal, working across party lines to get positive results for Rutherford, Bedford, and Moore Counties.”

Efficent Bureaucracy Dampens Democratic Fervor?

Mathew Hurtt takes offense at Murfreesboro mayor Tommy Bragg’s explanation for low turnout municipal election:

Bragg said that means the city elections are less relevant and that citizens have other ways to deal with their government than voting out politicians they don’t agree with.

“Municipal elections, unless there are grievous irregularities, have lost a certain amount of relevance,” he said.

What does this mean exactly? Perhaps it means that Murfreesboro should eliminate the City Council and Mayoral position altogether and be governed solely by bureaucrats. Why even have an elected body of officials if, according to Bragg, “city elections are less relevant”?
