Enabling San Francisco Liberalism

Posted on August 10, 2008 at 9:20 pm

Fourth District Republican Congressional candidate Monty Lankford celebrates his primary victory Thursday and looks to the future:

“The people of Tennessee’s 4th Congressional District are beginning to catch on to Lincoln Davis’ double talk. Nancy Pelosi has vowed to never allow a vote on offshore drilling in the House of Representatives. But to keep her vow, she has to have the help of double-talking Democrats like Lincoln Davis. When Lincoln is in Washington, he is voting more and more with San Francisco values and with radical environmentalists, and not with Tennessee values - and certainly not in the best interests of our conservative Tennessee families that are being hit hard by high gas prices,” said Lankford. “It is disingenuous to claim that you are conservative when you are in Tennessee, but then turn around and vote in line with liberal Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s values time and time again when you are in Washington.”

Primary Problems In District 4

Toni of the Bear Creek has a few issues with carpet-bagging Congressional candidate Monty Lankford:

Monty Lankford is a millionaire who has hired campaign help from Washington D.C. I guess since Monty doesn’t reside in the 4th District it isn’t surprising he would go outside of Tennessee for campaign help. Kent Greenough is running a true grass roots campaign with only you and other 4th District residents for support.

Davis Opponent Wants The Inside Scoop On Obama’s Terrorist Connections

Posted on June 13, 2008 at 4:49 pm

The City Paper is holding to its story that Congressman Lincoln Davis’ Chief Of Staff Beecher Frasier failed to unequivocally assert that Barack Obama had no connection to terror. Frasier, for his part, has released an unequivocal statement. Monty Lankford, however, one of Davis’s Republican opponents, doesn’t want the fun to stop:

“If Lincoln Davis believes there is a chance Barack Obama is ‘terrorist-connected,’ that may explain why he has dragged his feet in not endorsing Obama,” Lankford said. “And if so, Davis needs to share his Washington ‘insider information’ with the rest of us in Tennessee.”

Is It Safe?

The Tennessee Republican Party celebrates the fundraising success of its recruited from another district candidate for Congress while accusing the incumbent of already looking to the future:

“Lincoln Davis has his eye on the Governor’s Mansion its fancy new ballroom, not on the job of representing the people of his district,” said Bill Hobbs, communications director for the Tennessee Republican Party. “As a result, his fund-raising is lack-luster and his seat is not safe.”

McMansion Monty Outraises Incumbent In 4th District Race

Rep. Lincoln Davis has a challenge on his hands for his 4th District Congressional Seat:

A Republican challenger raised almost five times more than Democratic Rep. Lincoln Davis of Tennessee during the first three months of this year.

Monty Lankford, who runs a medical equipment company in Franklin, received more than $224,500 from the beginning of January through the end of March.

Davis, who is seeking a fourth term in November, raised $53,850 during the same period.

Lankford also reported more cash on hand at the end of March than Davis — $201,117 to $199,307.

John Rowley, a consultant to Davis’ re-election campaign, downplayed Lankford’s fund-raising advantage. Rowley and other Davis supporters insist Lankford lives in the neighboring district represented by Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn.

“Even if he raised $5 million, he’s not going to win in a district he doesn’t live in,” said Rowley in a phone interview from Nashville.

And half of his scheduled appearances will even be in the district he’s running for — unlike his current residence.
