A Lot Of Work Goes Into Running Unopposed Sometimes

Sean Braisted makes an important observation regarding the developing 18th Metro Council District special election race:

What I find most interesting about all this, is that when Keith Durbin ran in 2007, he didn’t have a single challenger…which just goes to show that he held quite a bit of respect from people inside the district.

From Openly Gay To John Ray?

John Ray Clemmons, former Bob Clement congressional staffer and the day-to-day campaign manager for Clement’s 2007 mayoral campaign has thrown his hat into the exploratory ring for the very recently vacated 18th District Metro Council seat. Clemmons is currently a lawyer for Blackburn & McCune:

Due to various calls of encouragement from friends and neighbors, I am seriously considering running for the open Council seat vacated by Mr. Durbin. The decision is contingent upon the blessings of my family of course.

Interesting that two attorneys, both close to the Clements, have decided to take a look at this race. Very interesting.

Both Ross Pepper and Randy Rayburn have expressed interest and Maria Salas is also a possible candidate.
