State House Candidate’s Website Featured A Pic Of McKensie Morrison

Posted on January 24, 2010 at 1:43 pm

McKensie Morrison. That’s a name you probably didn’t expect to hear again in connection with any politician in Tennessee other than Sen. Paul Stanley. But Brett Ramsey, who has pulled papers to run for Rep. Curtis Johnson’s seat, had a picture of her on his website until it was pointed out by Post Politics.

The website, which is devoted to selling T-shirts to benefit a company that sells carbon offsets, has a section where people who have bought the shirts can send in a picture of themselves wearing the shirt to be displayed. The one and only photo that appeared in that section until Saturday was that of McKensie Morrison, the intern who brought down Sen. Stanley.

Ramsey is currently a full-time instructor at Austin Peay, the school Morrison was attending while doing her internship at the legislature. Ramsey told Post Politics that Morrison was a student of his and had expressed interest in the mission of the site and offered up her photo for the section.

“That site was a side project of mine at the time. McKensie saw it and asked me about it after class one day,” says Ramsey. “After the end of that semester, she bought a shirt and e-mailed that picture of her wearing it.”

Ramsey said that Morrison did “extremely well” as a student in his class which led to his decision to recommend her for the internship at the legislature. In hindsight, of course, he wishes his decision had been different.

“Obviously, she wasn’t quite as forthright about her background as we know now and it’s a shame what ended up happening,” said Ramsey.

Ramsey reports that his wife actually reminded him about the picture once Morrison made the news back in July and counseled him to remove it. He never got around to it.

Ramsey, while himself a political neophyte, boasts an impressive pedigree. It turns out Ramsey is not only the grandson of former Gov. Ned McWherter but also a cousin to Rep. John Tanner.

So right out of the box we learn that this clown has a) extraordinarily poor judgment and b) bought into a bunch of dumbass environmentalist horseshit about light bulbs saving the earth.

Anyone know the address of rep. Johnson’s victory party?

What we *know* is that he’s a Democrat, which means he’s not only gonna be hounded to apologize, but will apologize at every freaking opportunity for anything and everything. We know this because Republicans are never called out to apologize by corporate media, almost never actually apologize, and usually blame liberals for making them do it in the first place.
We also know he’ll be getting less money from *individuals* since he’s obviously sympathetic to the environment, and will be ridiculed for things he didn’t say and certainly didn’t mean - but probably thought when he was 11 or 12 years old. He will also be made to defend Sundquist’s stand on income taxes, Al Gore’s statements on global warming, and Ophelia Ford’s family history - without any questions from the oligarchs at the Nashville Tennessean.
Dirty bugger probably doesn’t even *own* a Wii …

Another piece of hard hitting Post Politics journalism….rank it up there with other worthy pieces such as the Rose Cox bullcrap and the Steve Turner racism incident.

Sometimes this site reads more like the Enquirer…

I hear Bat Boy filed papers to run against Jim Cooper. No, really.

Well, this super silly ‘revelation’ by Kleinheider (who surely has better things to do than looks through AP’s clean energy program photos) helps the democrats more than hurts them. Every time this is brought up, it will simply remind folks of the Repbulican Senator who had a sexual relationship with his intern. If I were a Democrat I would let the press bring it up constantly. Nice one Kleiny!

Bull By the time election day rolls around people will *know* Stanley was a *Democrat* because the story will get so muddied by the ‘librul’ corporate media.Oh, and don’t you know the corporate flacks (aka reporters) are on campus already looking into those *allegations* he may have, or may not have, had an inapropriate phone call/letter/e-mail/nose ring/slice of toast/wave from across the way with her or another *undisclosed* co-ed, maybe - possibly. And, of course, David Davis has a poll out which says he’s soft on abortion, too!
So, you know - what the people don’t know, or isn’t true, the corporate ‘librul media’ is bound to report. Wii!!

Mikey, put the coffee down and take a Xanax or something. We don’t need your throbbing head vein to shoot blood all over Post Politics. What a mess for Kleinheider to have to clean up…

LOL … and it isn’t true? LOL, you know this Hurtt … it’s politics 101. Democrats, unfortunately, still don’t know how its played. Damn shame good candidates get greased early by crap like this … now, I dunno whether he’s any good or not. But he’s starting out apologizing and making excuses, and THAT’s NOT GOOD.

Joey arn’t you the moron who claimed credit for that goofball of a rutherford county democratic chairman, Jonathon Fagon, for keeping Hooper Penuel as election administrator?

Look kido when you get out of college you can join the grown ups in an adult conversation. Until then you got your hands full kid being Fagons cabin boy.

Hey, “dontcallmemikey”. What are you smoking? You must be living in a parrell universe. Republicans that mess up are called upon to resign. Racists like Robert Byrd and Harry Reid just get free passes by the liberal media.

odom - yeah, some of them resign - the one’s leadership is too embarrassed to keep around, or are absolute and total sleezebags. How about Vitter? Where’s the Appy Trail guy? Heck, even the TV sleezebags stick around for you guys.
As for Reid and Byrd - well, Byrd’s teenage years is another one of those bulls–t distractions you guys love; Reid is a joke, however, on the Democrats. He’s two balls short of a full sack.

When the TNDP recruits people, they should do basic research. It isn’t that hard and we would like a little help

That last race didn’t turn out to well for us.Do you remember TY Cobb?

Here are some basics questions that should be asked.

1.Do you really want to run?

2.Just becuse your brother or Grandfather was elected. It doesn’t mean you will be.

    3.Do know McKensie Morrison?

4.Do you know our Chairman is crazy?

5.Do you know that the House GOP will lie, cheat and steal to win this race?

So what’s all the fuss about ACK? I don’t know him other than meeting him once, which could be characterized as “in passing,” at one of the 2008 conventions. We all found this tag line intriguing enough to click on it and the story compelling enough to keep reading. I’m glad he keeps us informed of both serious news and more light-hearted gaffes by candidates, such as this.

Democrats need to learn to NEVER apologize. EVER. The apology and explanation makes things worse than if you just shut yer yap and let it die down. Works for GOP and infuriates Democrats, but Democrats just never can learn it.

Nothing could make GW look intelligent. Even in helping Haiti, he looked and acted like a jackass. Let’s give President Obama credit, he saved us from going so deep in the toilet that we would have never gotten out. Bush and Cheney destroyed our country, the idiots. There is no way that you can lie yourself out of that one, and Lamar and Corker helped Bush/Cheney.
