Bailout Blues For The Wampster

Posted on December 16, 2009 at 12:29 pm

The nationals say Wamp’s “bailout problem” is not unique:

While the issue will be wielded against members of both parties throughout the next 11 months, it could be particularly potent in some race-to-the-right GOP primaries. The Time poll showed 71 percent of Republicans and 64 percent of independents opposed to the bailout.

One GOP pollster said candidates are polling the issue and are deeply concerned.

β€œIt’s a killer β€” particularly in a GOP primary,” the pollster said.

Few GOP incumbents who voted for the bailout face substantial primary challengers, but those who do, including Sen. Bob Bennett (R-Utah) and Reps. Henry Brown Jr. (R-S.C.), Bob Inglis (R-S.C.) and Jean Schmidt (R-Ohio), should expect a heavy dose of bailout-based criticism.

The issue is more likely to affect Republican incumbents seeking other jobs, including governor and the Senate.

Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas) and Reps. Pete Hoekstra (R-Mich.), Jim Gerlach (R-Pa.), Gresham Barrett (R-S.C.) and Zach Wamp (R-Tenn.) are all running for governor and facing bailout wrath. Hutchison, in the face of such criticism, has said flatly that she regrets her bailout vote.

Bailout Blues… its no surprise that Washington Politics will leak its way into TN with any insider who has been there becoming a Governor. It’s hard to preach against drinking if your a drunk… its hard to preach against The Federal Government if you are the federal government…

How about Rep “ZigZag” Zach Wamp’s support for HR 413, the unionization of fire, police, and EMTs across the country?

Like it or not the bailout kept the American economy from going over the cliff. And they havent even spent all the money yet.
Someone explain to me how a vote that kept the economy intact is a sellout. I think its another example of how Zach Wamp votes by using his mind to figure out whats best for the country instead of trying to please a handful of rich people. I think it took guts to do what he did. He did it, the disaster was averted and now we need to fix the problem. But his voting for it, didnt
    a. cause the problem
    b. fix the problem.
It simply averted alot of hard times for lower income people and those are the people he is seeking to elect him. Again a pretty ballsy thing to do and another example of how Zach is his own man and not controlled by ANY special interest. The more I look at Wamp the more I can see him making a great Gov. Hes got my vote!

Earl.. No it did not, the Bailout bankrupted the economy, the nation.

The spending of the Democrats since 2007 caused the economic crisis, the failure to regulate by the democrats caused the crisis.

The Bailout only did one thing, prevent the pruning of dead wood from the economy.

They Bailed out the auto industrty to keep it from going bankrupt. Wait GM and Crysler DID ENTER CHAPTER 11 BANKRUPTSY..

So all the Baiouts did was put 2 trillion dollars of debt you OUR CHILDERN.

Bankrupted Medicare, Social Security, and Medicaid and last but not least the Dept of Transportation Trust fund.

I would rather have lost many over bloated companies to prevent my childern from being enslaved by the 300,000 dept for every man woman and child in this nation.
