The Guy They Installed Instead Of Kurita And The Guns In Bars Dem Endorse Herron
By Kleinheider Posted on December 9, 2009 at 5:08 pmFrom a presser:
Sen. Roy Herron, Democratic candidate for Tennessee’s 8th District in the U.S. Congress, today announced endorsements from Sen. Tim Barnes (D-Clarksville), Sen. Doug Jackson (D-Dickson), Rep. Joe Pitts (D-Clarksville), and Rep. John Tidwell (D-New Johnsonville), all prominent legislators who represent Tennesseans living in the congressional district.
“I’ve had the opportunity to serve with Roy Herron, and I have seen his care and concern for people. I’m confident that the people of the 8th congressional district will be well-served when Roy becomes their congressmen,” said Sen. Barnes, whose 22nd district includes Houston and Montgomery counties.
“Roy Herron has been my colleague in the General Assembly since 1986. He is a man of integrity, honesty, and a hard work ethic,” said Sen. Jackson, whose 25th district includes Humphreys and Dickson counties. “In my judgment, Roy would make an outstanding Congressman.”
“The first word that comes to mind when I think of Roy is integrity,” said Rep. Pitts, whose 67th district represents part of Montgomery County. “He is a close friend, almost like a brother to me, and I’m confident he will represent the values of the people in the 8th district well in Washington.”
