National Republicans React To Herron’s Switch To The Congressional Race

Posted on December 2, 2009 at 9:05 am

From Andy Sere, National Republican Campaign Committee spokesman:

“Lawyer-politician-professor Roy Herron’s 23-year Nashville record is a veritable smorgasbord of Obama-style liberalism. Herron has championed a state income tax, a disastrous government healthcare system, card check and the ‘stimulus’ that failed struggling Tennesseans. With his gubernatorial bid circling the drain, he’s embarked on a quixotic quest to take his job-killing agenda national. Christmas has come early for Stephen Fincher.”

In other words, the NRCC is running scared and desperate to find something wrong with one of the most intelligent, thoughtful, dedicated, energetic, and gifted public servants in the state of Tennessee.

Funny. Clearly, they know nothing about Roy Herron, his record, or why he was considered the most-electable Democratic candidate for Governor. Running scared, indeed.

That’s interesting. I’m going to side with the folks here inasmuch as it appears the NRCC knows very little about Roy Herron.

Honestly, I wish those national folks would just stay out of Tennessee - both parties. They really know very little about what’s going on there.

When did Herron ever “champion” card-check?

This looks like a classic NRSC cut and paste job…I imagine they say the “exact” same thing about almost all potential candidates. Unfortunately the party committees are rarely more than white noise.

Sounds like the NRCC is scared to death of Roy Herron.

You know you’ve got a winning candidate for the CD-8 when the leaders of the Republican Party (a.k.a. nutbag conservative talk radio types) are writing the talking points for the NRCC about Herron.

    Go get ‘em, Roy!
