Momentum is firmly in Herron’s corner. Keep up the good work Herron is the most viable democrat for the general.

Wow. Herron is clearly out there organizing…and persuading. And his operation is consistently besting presumed frontrunner McWherter. Is this race really between Herron and Kyle?

Mike Koop will soon be along to save the day.

How much did the organizers charge per vote?

What these straw polls clearly show is that Herron is willing to buy them and Carmack doesn’t have a clue. The only consistency is in first and last.

Can’t wait to see Carmack whine on his Facebook page.

Rural West Tennessee candidates generally are good Democratic candidates. Two of the last 3 Democratic governors are from rural W. TN. The one exception is Bredesen who barely won the first time despite a weak Republican nominee.

Herron could be a very good nominee.

At this point, the race is all about fundraising, organization and ideas.

The next set of fundraising numbers will be revealing. McWherter should have a huge lead given his built in advantages, but the question is how does the rest of the field shake out.

The other candidates can demean the straw polls (that they saw fit to attend), but the results prove that Herron is lapping the field in organization and effort.

I must admit that I haven’t followed the candidates’ issue positions closely, but I haven’t yet discerned a meaningful distinction on ideas. If one candidate can step forward with bold policy prescriptions and a coherent governing philosophy, then it should accelerate fundraising and organizational momentum. The race is on…

Man, it looks like Herron is pulling away in terms of organization and appeal.

Joe, I think you’re right that fundraising numbers are the biggest thing that matters right now, but these kind of wins at straw polls become talking points for fundraising efforts.

Herron’s folks can talk about this now and bring in the dollars. McWherter’s folks are scratching their heads right now…
