Mayor’s Neighborhoods Director Brady Banks Joins Herron For Governor

Brady Banks has resigned as director of Mayor’s Office of Neighborhoods, Dean spokeswoman Janel Lacy confirms

Sean Braisted reports that the “other opportunities” Banks is leaving to pursue is actually one opportunity — a position in Roy Herron’s gubernatorial campaign raising money.

UPDATE: Brady Banks on his big move (via email):

“I have enjoyed my time in Mayor Dean’s office, and I believe in what he is doing for Nashville. This is an important time not only for our city, but also for our state. Roy Herron and I have been friends for a long time, and I know him to be a hard worker, a good listener, and a man of integrity who has the values and vision to lead Tennessee. I am excited to help him become Governor.”

“Brady is a long-time friend who cares deeply about Tennessee’s future. We are excited to have his help and support, and we look forward to working with him.”

    He’ll be on the ballot in if not before 2011.

    I think Johnny C means that Banks might run again for council or something else very soon.
