Who Owns The Tea Party?

Posted on November 10, 2009 at 10:34 am

Nobody, damn it!

“You have these ppl getting on national television saying ‘We’re the head of the national tea party,’ and now you have these guys saying, ‘We’re the head of the Florida tea party.’ There’s no such thing,” said Henry Kelley, the vice chairman of the Fort Walton Tea Party in the Florida panhandle. “It just drove me crazy when I saw that. We are a group of independents and people are trying to hijack it. It undermines the whole concept.”

I saw that happen in Nashville and Rutherford County. In the words of that horse from Ren & Stimpy: “No sir, I don’t like it.”

Hah, welcome to the world of anti-War protesters. They get a million people out to march in New York and Washington and the media picks up on one Marxist organization co-sponsoring it and it becomes a communist rally.

Regardless, I’m not sure what “concept” they are referring to…its a hodge-podge of people coming out to protest (fill in the blank). Its angry people shouting things, with no real direction or substance to build a foundation on.

@Sean: Your rallies are communist because they are funded by the global corporations pushing world socialism — even the green group 350.org, is funded by Rockefeller, the biggest name in oil!

    What hypocrites.

NH, thanks for the great example of what I was talking about. But, have no fear, I’ve never attended an anti-war rally (or protest rally of any kind), as I think they are pointless circle jerks designed to make people feel better about themselves.

“Your rallies are communist because they are funded by the global corporations pushing world socialism”

Isn’t that sort of self defeating for corporations to push socialism?

“Henry Kelley, the vice chairman of the Fort Walton Tea Party in the Florida panhandle.”

So is he not really the Vice Chairman of the Fort Walton Tea Party?

83.4% of all statistics are made up.
