Bredesen ‘Very Willing’ To Look At State Employee Furloughs

Posted on November 10, 2009 at 12:26 pm

From Andy Sher:

Gov. Phil Bredesen said today he will consider implementing state employee furloughs and contract freezes as he makes cuts in the 2010-2011 budget he presents next year to Tennessee lawmakers.

“I am very willing to look at that,” said Gov. Bredesen, who begins a series of budget hearings Monday with department heads.

Bredesen, has been governor for what seems like an eternity. It will be so good to see him leave office. And take his well paind cronies with him. Maybe then we can have a conversation about which employees work and which ones dont and which ones need to stay. Sort of like “The Office” in state government now. Where a big nerd is running things and nothing ever gets done. He’s had 7 years!!!! And we’re still at the bottom of the states, and he’s still talking about what he’s going to do. Why doesn’t he start talking about what he’s going to do when he’s out of office. I will believe that a lot more. Maybe then he can spend some of his many millions building a roundtable for his noble well paid knights, while the rest of us get to breathe a little easier now that he’s gone. Bredesen + his commissioners = BIG DUD. He should get the leadership book my Sunday school class studied last year called “Good to Great.” Cause he took a state that was good and put it in one big “Doom Loop.”

Amen to your comments tonygreen!! You nailed him to the wall. He is like Bush, neither did anything worth while for the people all about them selves and greed. Made them self richer at our expense the tax payers. His hidden agenda just like Bush. Just like Bredesen wife was going to build that underground pile of crap and no one was going to tell her different and shoved it down our throats. Eyesore it is and I guarantee our tax money was put in to that if the truth be told which we know we will never find out. So glad he is leaving, can’t wait!!
