Romney Never Stopped Running

Posted on November 9, 2009 at 5:04 pm

From CNN:

If you look at his travel schedule crisscrossing the country, you might think Mitt Romney was still running for office.

Since February, he has attended nine events for senatorial candidates, appeared at more than a dozen rallies or fundraisers for those running for governor this year or next, and spoken at almost two dozen meetings of Republican Party groups or conservative organizations. And he has finished a new book.

And probably takes no real stand on the issues, backs no single candidate, offers no solutions for real problems, and is poised to be moderate or conservative, which ever way the wind blows. The epitome of slick — its his picture in Wikipedia next to the word ‘politician’

Become a born-again baptist and you might have a shot in the GOP primary, otherwise…

    Mikey and Sean,

    Don’t underestimate Romney.

He has charm and brains and good looks and talent.

And he will adopt whatever philosophical or policy position that he thinks necessary to advance his career.

When you think about Romney’s career, he is very reminiscent of another political golden child.

He was raised by a political father who was defeated at the end of his career.

    He grew up in priviledge.

He started out in quest for elective office by hewing to the values of his adopted state.

As his profile grew nationally, he abandoned his core beliefs to make himself more marketable nationally.

Ah ha!! Mitt Romney is Al Gore.

Romney has absolutely no center. There is no there there. He is literally for what ever it takes to get elected. In MA, liberal - then ran against things he supported in MA when it became convenient to do so … he’s a slick weasel, and not fit to be president. And, for all you rock ribbed Conservatives - he ain’t one. Not even close.

    Mikey,

As I said, he is the second coming of Al Gore.

Except that Romney has proven himself to be a good manager. The Olympics, his business success and he was a good governor in Massachusetts.

He would be wonderfully qualified to be President if he believed in anything other than himself.
