The Reckoning Begins For Tennessee Right To Life

Posted on November 7, 2009 at 9:48 pm

House Majority Leader Jason Mumpower will rebuke Tennessee Right to Life for their endorsement of Ty Cobb over Pat Marsh in the District 62 special election in a letter yet to be delivered:

The letter cites the group’s endorsement of Democrat Ty Cobb in a special election last month that was won by Republican Rep. Pat Marsh of Shelbyville. It says Right To Life does not consider that the fate of legislation often depends on “behind the scenes” activity.

“These behind the scenes actions are either being ignored or maybe simply are not understood by Tennessee Right to Life,” the letter says. “By your own actions of supporting Democrat candidates you are saying you hope Democrat leaders once again are in the position of power and by your own actions you will help history repeat itself and you will help insure pro-life legislation is defeated,” the letter says.

Not all Republicans are down with burning down the anti-abortion group, however. See Tom Humphrey for the developing story.

The TRL endorsed Cobb and then the dems and the TRL got beat by 15%, it showed how irrelevant they are.

Republicans will continue to insure that pro-life legislation passes while the TRL and the dems pretend they have any influence in this matter.

Brian Harris, Director of the TRL, likes politics his problem is he is not good at it. The TRL baked this cake let them eat it.

    “Democrat” isn’t an adjective.

I think, at the end of the day, it’s Spideyboy who will be deemed ‘irrelevant’ - but, truthfully, I don’t have a dog in this hunt. I’m enjoying watching the feast as the GOP and its base turns on itself. I have some mustard, if anyone needs it ;)
