Whip Check

Posted on November 6, 2009 at 2:39 pm

Rep. Eric Cantor has compiled a list of Democratic congressman against the current health reform bill. He lists four from Tennessee (all accept Cohen). As far as I know, only Gordon has actually stated official opposition.

wow… all the TN Dems are voting against this? Really? Really? What’s the point of sending Democrats to DC if they are going to act all cowardly when the big issues come up? Why wouldn’t a Democrat from TN vote FOR the health reform bill?

Because they probably want to get re-elected. The majority of voters do not want this.

“accept” Cohen for what, or, as what?

    Gotta Wonder — you’re wrong.

Tennesseans DO want this. Especially in the rural districts where people are unemployed or who do have jobs but not insurance because their employer won’t do right by them or because they have pre-existing conditions and can’t even buy health insurance if they could afford it.

I’d even say that the demand for reform is higher in Gordon, Davis, and Tanner’s districts than in Cooper’s because people in Cooper’s district generally make more money and the employers can afford to buy insurance.

These guys are idiots. They have just ensured that Democratic voters will not turn out to vote for them right when they need their help the most.

They all deserve to get tossed out for their stupidity.

Well, clearly the whip didn’t crack hard enough across the aisle. Cantor was wrong on Coop.
