Organizer Doesn’t Think Haslam Understands What He’s Missing

Posted on November 5, 2009 at 8:38 am

“Action” Andy Sher on the absences from Knoxville’s Reagan Day:

Tennessee Conservative Union Chairman Lloyd Daugherty said Mr. Haslam “had some kind of conflict or at least he said he did.”

Mr. Daugherty said the Haslam campaign just last week decided to be one of the dinner’s sponsors.

“I know they want to appeal to conservatives, but I don’t think there’s anybody in the conservative movement in that campaign,” he said. “I don’t think they really understood at first there’s really not another conservative event of this size that’s statewide in scope between now and the election.”

This whole Conservative, gotta do this, gotta do that - really beginning to sound a whole lot like some sort of totalitarian thing, isn’t it? Gotta think this way, gotta go to this event, gotta confess this or that - otherwise, you aren’t a true conservative … Toe the line, vote this way, or you aren’t a ‘patriot’? Hmmm …

Gee, maybe Haslam was actually WORKING instead of collecting a salary on our dime to travel about to state spewing far-right nonsense.

The people in NY’s district 23 obviously saw through this “Going Rogue Teabagger Express” horse manure so hopefully our electorate will too. If the Republicans continue to evolve into the Nutbag Party, they will never win another national election.

Gee….I am supporting Haslam, and I don’t think that ANYBODY in Nashville would consider me a Moderate….so much for the thoery that No One in the Conservative movement is supporting Haslam. As the former Chairman of the Davidson County Republican Party, I’ve known Bill Haslam to have the Executive Experience needed to run our state… rather than the legislative experienc that delivers Pelosi - Reed type decisions and results. All of this rhetoric and litmus test type noise is nonsense anyway… we shall see over the next year whom it is that has what it takes to keep Tennessee moving and whom it is that has created the jobs that we so badly need to keep Tennessee’s families thriving. Bill Haslam has a long record of success in these areas….thatt’s why he’s getting my vote.

Don’t tell the teabaggers that! These T/Bers have given lots of good shots for the Democrats to use against them. if I was Haslam I would avoid this stuff like it was the Swine Flu .The T/bers aren’t enough to win an election ,unless the entire Republican Party converts over to the Bachmann /Palin/Beck/Limbaugh /Wilson party.

Then if that happens there will be a major deflection of the moderates.

See Joe, here’s my problem. You made a good case for your guy, he’s experienced, etc. - but then you had to go red-meat and throw in Nancy Pelosi … why? What is the point? You made a very strong case, from your perspective, without it. Then you go and add in the ‘buzzword,’ and all THAT does is reduce your comments to the level of an attack. This is what bothers me about the GOP; it’s almost reflexive, and insulting to people who might otherwise be swayed to your cause.

Crispy ,were you in D.C. yesterday? I love Nancy and Harry!

Hey, Crispy when is your party going to denounce the Signs of Hitler? It makes you people look like you support true nazism ,with what I saw yesterday. The sign with Dachau needs to be denounced and now!

    Jon:

You are my friend and have my undying respect. That’s why I believe your support of Billy Haslam is a conundrum wrapped in a paradox. If you can’t support me, which you cannot seem to bring yourself to do. Then, Ramsey, and even Zach are far better choices.

It can be DOCUMENTED that Mayor Bill Haslam doesn’t fully support gun rights, has publicly endorsed the Hall Income Tax, doesn’t understand the dynamics of the lottery scholarship funding, and receives a large portion of his funding from Democrats.

Given due credit, he is only a slightly less desirable choice than Bill Gibbons and marginally better than the Democrat field.

Pat Csh, I hate disappoint you or embolden you, whichever is more appropriate. The era of the RINO and the neocon are over. Their fossils will be useful tools for teaching future generations of the folly of substituting Reaganesque leadership with wishy-washy compromise.

Even so-called “movement” conservatives (and friends) like Jon Crisp, Zach Wamp, and Newt Gingrich have seen their stock plummet by attaching themselves to these mugwumps and influence peddling miscreants. They need not worry, however, atonement is an option.

Bill Haslam has never qualified as part of our movement. He clearly needs to be desensitized.
