Gore Responds To Charges He Stands To Profit From Activism

He is also co-founder of the London-based Generation Investment Management, which has shares in eco-energy companies.

Speaking on U.S. ABC TV show Good Morning America, Mr Gore defended his business activities and said he believed the U.S. would succeed in making the switch to renewable energy sources.

‘I am proud to have put my money where my mouth is for the past 30 years,’ he said.

‘And though that is not the majority of my business activities, I absolutely believe in investing in accordance with my beliefs and my values.’

    Is there a greater fraud other than perhaps George Soros? Gore is an embarrassment.

    HOw is he an embrassment? He is a nobel peace prize winner and Vice President who has dedicated his life to the people of this country. He is trying to make the world a better place by raising awareness. What are you doing? How can you not like a person who is just trying to better things?

    Number 9 do you know anything about George Soros? Do any of you right wingers know anything about this man? If you have any balls you would first find out that this man lost his family and almost himself in Hitlers purging Eastern Europe of Jews and this is one Jew who is so sick and tire of non jews who try and use this man for bait. Other Jews must step out to protect our only surviors of the most horrible thing that happened to a single group of people.

    As for Al Gore ,your not 1/10 the person that he is and you are going to be gasping for air to breathe right along with the rest if us one day. You are going to thrist for water that is healthy to drink right along with the rest of us and your going to be screaming for help because of diseases right along with the rest of us.Your going to see more weather changes and it will effect you and your going to yell for FEMA and it won’t do much good. Al Gore hasn’t changed his stand in the last 30 yrs ,he is right about Global Warming but you republicans are far to greedy for money to dig in and help.

    Who are these dumbed down idiots who say Al Gore is an “embarrassment”? I watched him in an interview with Rachael Maddow and read this weeks edition of Newsweek. The guy talks about climate change like Einstein. He’s captured world wide attention and deserves it. Had the 2000 election went the correct way, we’d NOT be in Iraq and Afghanistan chasing our tails, bankrupting the country. Al Gore is a national treasure.

    dakine7 ,these people don’t have the guts to let anyone know who they really are. they set and watch Al Gore’s home to count the watts he uses without the eyes to see Solar Panels and the ability to understand Carbon Offsets.

    These people worship at the feet of Money and Profits at the expense of their fellow man/woman/child and the earth that they live on.

    to this subject since his last major assignment for Pres. Clinton in the “Paper reduction project” for the
    Federal Gov. Many people invest where their passion

    Thank you Mr. Vice-President for your passion in trying to wake people up to what the future holds if we do not save our planet. When I watch you speak with intelligence about world problems, I think back to 2000 when Bush/Cheney stole the election and the terrible mess that they left this country. You tried to tell them not to go in to the Middle East because it would be a forty year war. I am proud of you, and you make me proud to be from TN. All of the nonsense of profit is coming from the air-head Blackburn. I can’t think of two more stupid people that Marsha of TN and Michelle of MN.

    Wait the planet has COOLED for the last 11 years. (save 1 year) Summer 2005-Spring of 2006.

    Save the Polar Bears. Wait since 1998 the polar bear population has INCREASED 500%…

    What save us from Hurricains… Wait the last 10 year period has been the weakest Hurricain decade since the 1880s. Except one year the Hurricain season of 2005 (August 2005-Feb 2006).

    We have entered Solar Cycles, 23 1998-2007 (cooling phase), and Solar Cycle 24 2008-~2018 a cooling phase, in 2018 they are predicting a Dalton Minimum, the same solar phase that created the LITTLE ICE AGE.

    We musn’t talk bad about the man who invented the internet. He’s just another one of those who profited from the system the way it is, then turned around and talked bad about it. I get so disgusted at all these filthy rich people, who made their fortunes from Capitalism, then turned around and tried to destroy it. Gore would like to see the rest of us on Pogo Sticks, instead of driving automobiles. Don’t expect him to give up his private jets, though.

    Al Gore is getting filthy rich and stands to profits greatly with the coming cap-and-trade. A saint, he ain’t.

    “Gore left the government in 2001 reporting a net worth of less than $2 million. Since then his personal net worth has skyrocketed. The New York Times reports that he recently invested $35 million in Capricorn Investment Group.”

    From this two-sided comment stream one thing is clear. The Gore fans have outlined his achievements. The Gore bashers have responded with a legitimate fact or two, filled out by ‘Nanny-nanny-boo-boo’ infantile far-right prattle gleaned from listening to Rush the Tush and Ann the Man.

    Would this country be as far in the toilet as it is now if led by Gore for eight years instead of by a corrupt corporate-pandering moron? We will never know. Obama hasn’t really shown me anything yet but at least we aren’t contining to swirl down into the sewer.
