All this shows is the author’s inability to grasp the concept and desires of liberalism.

Using Wiseman’s logic, President Obama is a closet conservative because of that speech he gave to the nation’s children. (Assuming he didn’t boycott it like his fellow wingnuts did.)

I hate to break it to Wiseman, but self-ownership and personal responsibility are not unique to the conservative world view.

Brawndo.. one more time more slowly.

The Conservitives did not mind the speech being made, it was the NEA workbook that was in conjuction with the speech. The workbook that requested the students find ways to SERVE the President, (instead of the nation)

    TNVol73 … one more time, slowly …

The DoE changed the wording in the workbook, and the cons still criticized Obama for giving the speech, claiming socialest indoctrinayton or something like that.

Some of you guys need to learn context and how to read with discernment. Nobody said Ludacris was a Republican or that conservatives had a monopoly on self-ownership or responsibility. In fact, the very point was that there are many areas of agreement, and that Repubs need to do a better job of managing tone and quit shutting off possibilities for growth generally.

(And BTW — I was one of a handful of conservatives urging people to calm down about the Obama speech to school-children.)
