David Roberts says yes:

So all the money from Gore’s investments is invested in a nonprofit to fight climate change. He’s not “positioned to profit.” He’s not “poised” to become a “billionaire.” The entire premise of the story is false. I’m sure the tiny percentage of readers who make it down this far in the story will be delighted to discover they’ve completely wasted their time.

To summarize: Professional Gore haters, who make their living peddling lies, cast an absurd charge against Gore. The charge goes in the headline. It goes in the first paragraphs of the story. Then in paragraph 32 it’s revealed that the charge is baseless. And John Broder wasn’t embarrassed to have this appear under his byline.

    Roberts says Gore is off the hook because he is donating his money to the Alliance for Climate Protection.

    So it is fair to ask some questions about the Alliance for Climate Protection.

    Q: What is it?
    A: A non-profit created by AL GORE.

    Q: What does it do?
    A: Promotes the same causes that Al Gore promotes.

    Q: What does that do for the value of Al Gore’s “green” investments?
    A: Drives them up.

    Q: Is there any way to verify that Al Gore really is donating “every penny” of his profits to the Alliance for Climate Protection?
    A: No. It’s a private entity.

    Q: Could Al Gore cease funding the Alliance for Climate Protection and pocket his profits at any time of his choosing?
    A: Yes

    Q: So the initial premise of the NYT story - that Gore is poised to reap huge profits from his green investments - and that his environmental activism serves to enhance his investments and his potential profits - is intact and accurate?
    A: Yes.

    What has gore said that was the truth.

    1. he promotes Global Warming during a Decade of Global Cooling.

    2. He said Warming will cause major disasters like Katrina.

    9 of the 10 years have been the lowest hurricane year since the 1930s (Wait that was a period the climage was warmer than today).

    Well teh Hockey Stick Graph has one problem it FAILED TO INCLUDE 1200 years of Climate Data the warming Period of the 1000-1700…
