Who You Talking About There, Zach?

Posted on October 30, 2009 at 5:00 pm

Pat Nolan asks a good question:

Congressman Wamp, from East Tennessee says he plans to spend at least two days every month visiting and campaigning in the Memphis/Shelby County area, but as for Haslam’s recent door-to-door campaigning in the Bartlett area of West Tennessee, the article described Wamp as “scornful”, adding this from the Congressman: “That’s a Tom Ingram stunt. It’s trying to make a rich guy look like a regular person.”

“An empty suit”, “a stunt”, “a rich guy trying to look like a regular person.”See what we have to look forward to next summer? And Wamp wasn’t just taking shots at Haslam. According to the MEMPHIS FLYER article:”Wamp also indulged in some speculation about future tense dropouts from the Republican gubernatorial field by Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey or District Attorney General Bill Gibbons of Memphis.”

Finally, according to the article, Wamp “cited his recent endorsement by the conservative Red State group (which he quoted as saying, “the last thing we need is any more squishy moderates in the State of Tennessee).”

“Squishy moderates?” Is that the Democrats or other Republicans like Senators Lamar Alexander or Bob Corker?

    Wamp better quit acting like a tough talking street punk.

    If the race tightens up, and he needs friends, he’ll find real quickly…he doesn’t have any.

    Wamp = Van Hilleary
    Ramsey = Bryant
    Gibbons = Out soon
    Haslam = Corker

    Wamp is the angry one always attacking the “rich one”, Ramsey is the so called “true conservative” and Haslam just does his thing and will win once he gets on TV. I think I’ve seen this before.

    I beat Gibbons tonight in the Sumner County YRs straw poll.

    Dream on, Jeff. Haslam is no Corker. Actually, he’s Van Hilleary Lite with a pile of cash. No offense to Van either. He was a relentless campaigner who only lost in 2002 because of the influence of the Haslam empire.

    A lot Tennessee voters might be born-again, but they were not born-again yesterday. If you are a neocon and you want a third-term for Bredesen, vote for Haslam. If you are a RINO and you want a fifth term for Don Sundquist, Haslam is your kind of guy.

    I like how Joe claims them all as friends, but never seems to attack anyone but Haslam. Joe, I wish you could see how Zach and Ron are just using you. You come into events and publicly call Haslam a RINO or neocon, (things that Zach or Ron wish they could say but are too politically correct to actually say it), and you make their day by saying it for them. So they continue to buddy up to you, encouraging you to keep attacking Haslam for them. I wonder if one of them is paying you for this service? If they’re not, they should be! For career politicians with 20 years of experience playing this game, I would imagine you have become quite useful to them.
