Cooper And Davis Want Less Spending On The Health Care Reform

Posted on October 23, 2009 at 1:05 pm

From the IS blog:

Moderate Tennessee Democratic Reps. Jim Cooper of Nashville and Lincoln Davis of Pall Mall have joined other House Democrats in sending a letter to House Democratic leadership calling for reform legislation to reduce overall health care spending.

The letter, signed by three dozen Democrats, states that the Congressional Budget Office estimates that the Senate Finance Committee reform legislation would reduce the deficit by $81 billion.

Let’s see, there have been at least two scorings of the House bill from CBO - the second one was lower than the first.

So here’s a question that health care reformists should be asking when they call Cooper or Davis’ offices:

WHAT IS THE DOLLAR AMOUNT THAT WOULD BE GOOD ENOUGH FOR JIM COOPER AND LINCOLN DAVIS to feel comfortable voting for this?

Curious to see what their answer is.
