Desperate Times Call For Desperate Fundraising Appeals

From a recently fired off email blast from the TNGOP:

I am writing today to ask for your help on an important matter. There is a special election taking place in a few days to fill the vacant State House District 62 seat in Middle Tennessee. This election determines if our party has a working majority in the legislature. This race has both state and national implications.

Pat Marsh is our Republican candidate. He is doing a fantastic job and the State Party is doing everything it can to assist, but we can really use your help. Liberal Democrats across the state and nation are pouring money into Ty Cobb’s race. That is why we need your help. Whatever is contributed to the party on-line in the next week will be used towards our efforts to solidify our majority, and this race is the first step of that effort. If you would rather send in your contribution by mail, please make payable to Tennessee Republican Party and send to 2424 21st Avenue, Suite 200, Nashville, TN 37203.

Pat Marsh is a wonderful family man who is running to serve the people of the 62nd District because he believes Tennessee and its citizens are empowered by a limited government, lower taxes, and a strong free enterprise system.

Pat is a successful small businessman who built his company from the ground up and currently employs over 500 people in Middle Tennessee. He is an active outdoorsman who believes in protecting the Second Amendment from those attempting to weaken our gun rights. Pat is also pro-life and will defend traditional marriage between a man and a woman.

Over the last few months, Pat has been relentless in his efforts to speak with as many people as possible in his district which includes areas of Bedford, Lincoln and Rutherford counties. He stands in stark contrast to his Democrat opponent Ty Cobb who, just this week, refused to participate in the third of three town hall debates with other candidates in the District.

Ty Cobb, the Democrat, was just recently endorsed by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), an organization closely linked with the controversial Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN). Ty Cobb’s campaign has been in the hands of liberal Democrats in the state legislature that continue to dictate his every move - a dynamic not likely to change if he is elected. This is what we are up against.

The bottom line is that District 62 voters have a choice on Tuesday, October 13th. They can vote for a Big Labor, Big Union candidate who works under the directives of liberals in the legislature OR they can vote for Pat Marsh - a family man and successful small businessman who knows how to balance a budget, make payroll and bring jobs to District 62.

Help us get out the message about Pat Marsh by sending a contribution to the Tennessee Republican Party today! Your dollars will be used to elect a great conservative who will lead strongly in Tennessee. To make a difference with your donation, please visit http://tngop.org/action/contribute.html.

Thank you for your generous support,

Chris Devaney

We all know how prevalent ACORN is in District 62. There is an office on every corner! And Pat Marsh, such an upstanding Tax-paying citizen, who cares if he breaks labor laws by forcing his employees to work over the legal limit for drivers?

It is interesting to note that Rep “Zigazag-Zach” Wamp is also for BIG LABOR and BIG UNIONS.

Why is it Unions have such a bad wrap? Is protecting the Rights of the working man such a bad thing?

This is about following the Constitutions. Anything to do with unions and labor should be done at the state level, not the federal level.

“liberal Democrats in the state legislature”? That’s the biggest thigh-slapper to come out of this whole thing - and considering a magnitude of the other hilarity, that’s saying something.

If they need money, why don’t they break into Marsh’s $57,000 cash-on-hand? Sounds like they know the race is lost and their trying to pull a quick fundraiser for the party out of the ashes of Marsh’s sorry campaign.
