Van Ingram, RIP

Van Ingram, beloved father of political and public relations guru Tom Ingram, has passed away at his home in Vernon, Alabama. He was 86.

A Church of Christ minister and social worker, Ingram moved to Nashville in 1960 graduating from the University of Tennessee’s School of Social Work, then based in Nashville.

In addition to preaching in pulpits in Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia and Florida for the past sixty years, he also helped start AGAPE programs in many of those states.

Visitation is from 4-7pm tomorrow at the Chandler Funeral Home in Vernon. Ingram’s burial service will take place Wednesday at 2pm at Greenwood Cemetery in Montgomery, AL.
