Assuming he stays in the race, Doug Henry is safe and this kid sets himself up well to be the Democrat candidate 2014. What the district looks by then will be determined by the statewide results next fall. In the short term, this primary challenge hurts no one but Bill Haslam; moderate Republicans will cross party lines to vote for Henry in his primary, thus eroding his most natural base in Davidson County.
Really? SouthComm supports Yarbro? I’d have never guessed from the huge banner on the top of the page.
Impressive host list
Even MORE interesting than that….KATY VARNEY who is the wife of Bredesen Commissioner of Finance Dave Goetz…is a co-host…
Do Bredesen and Goetz want Sen. Henry gone too?!
I suspect this is a nice way of nudging Senator Henry into retirement.
“I suspect this is a nice way of nudging Senator Henry into retirement.”
Bingo.
Look at that list. Yarbro is really a top prospect for the TNDP, isn’t he?
All this talk of “primarying” Jim Cooper seems to have stirred the pot in Davidson County Democratic primary politics. No doubt, my alter ego Ron Ramsey will be smiling ear to ear as these Democrats tear each other apart.
Interesting that Ron Ramsey’s trolls are on this thread.
Get to work, Lance. The taxpayers aren’t paying you to waste time on the blogs.
John Jonzz, unless you’re looking at a different invitation, Varney appears all by her lonesome self on that invite. No Dave Goetz or Bredesen to be found. But maybe since Roy Neel’s on it, we should read that Al Gore really wants Sen. Henry gone?
This is one heck of a supporters list. Does Bill Hobbs still think Yarbro will only raise 50K for the primary?
