Im sure the talking heads will refute this as well. SOMETIMES FACTS GET IN THEIR WAY! Its easier to SCARE people than to TRUTHFULLY EDUCATE THEM!

“Lies are like fungus, they grow best in the dark.”
Looks like a little sunlight goes a long way in the disinformation campaign from the Rick Scott and company.
By the way, where’s that GOP alternative? Oh yeah, Kleenex.

    Donna, that is cracked.
Undocumented folks can’t access the public option any more than other state health benefits, which is to say very little. Rep. Blackburn was frustrated at her 2006 sham hearing in Brentwood when a hospital administrator from Vanderbilt reported that uninsured citizens were overwhelmingly more costly than the few non-citizens they treat.

This amendment wasn’t about keeping non-citizens from accessing programs; it was about discouraging those millions of qualified citizens who need access to coverage now.

Leave it to the GOP to play the “illegals” card whenever they don’t have any ideas left. Sorry, it’s not 2006 anymore.

“Garry Perizzo, testifying on behalf of the Vanderbilt University Medical Center, said that his facility spends about $3.8 million annually on uncompensated care for illegal immigrants. Perizzo added, however, that this is just a small fraction of the facility’s overall costs – $74 million in the last 12 months – for uncompensated care.”

Hah. The conservatives can’t protect the status quo with facts, so they start an email hoax campaign. Nice.

Without specific language and direction otherwise, eligibility will not be clear and/or verification of eligibility will not happen — already the case with welfare programs in many states.

The facts will not stop the idiots on the right from circulating this e-mail and swearing to it as fact. This is the same stuff as the birthers — make up stupid shit, put it on the internet, the knuckle-dragging dittohead moron teabaggers will believe it and mass e-mail it again.

Donna Locke clearly fails to understand the Hippocratic Oath. If an illegal immigrant comes to the ER for treatment, the physician is going to provide care. And guess who pays for it?

    You and me.

We’re going to pay for it anyway. At least, if we go through a regulated Medicare-type system, we’ll be able to negotiate rates, get data on how many illegals are receiving care, and help identify them in our system.

Comprehensive immigration reform is important, and we need to address the issue. But I support John McCain’s plan, not the plan of xenophobes, racists, and selfish jerks in the GOP who fail to extend common human kindness to the most vulnerable in our society.

Funny or it is TELLING how none of the “socialist” manifesto from the right has found it way on this thread, as the BS they’ve been passing threw the airwaves has been debunked.

Funny or Telling how the TRUTH steers away the the same people who believe and are possibly sending out this BS.

Sorry, but I must return to something thoughtbubbles wrote above (as I am bored and trying to avoid doing some actual work). The truth in all its fullness did not emerge in that hearing referenced by the commenter. People insured under Medicaid, as illegal aliens are if they claim they can’t pay, are not counted among the uninsured! They have insurance! You provide it; you are paying for it. Hospitals don’t inquire into legal status/lawful presence. Hospitals can call down that emergency Medicaid whenever. If they didn’t, many more of them would be out of business than are already — because of the tidal wave of illegal migrants and their offspring.

That’s another thing: the children born here to illegal aliens are not counted among the uninsured either if their parents can’t pay. The children are insured — you are providing their insurance at the federal and state levels.
