Posted on July 21, 2009 at 6:52 pm

Ken Whitehouse reports he will resign his chairmanship of the Commerce Committee tomorrow:

According to documents filed in Davidson County Criminal Court, Stanley was in a relationship with McKensie Morrison, a 23-year-old student from Austin Peay State University. At the same time Morrison was involved in a relationship with Joel Watts of Nashville, according to sources familiar with the investigation.

How in the world did we not know about this?
This is nothing but a planned cover up. I like how he has already resigned. This is moving way to fast and I would like it to slow down a little.

He’s only resigning his COMMITTEE CHAIRMANSHIP, not his Senate seat, remember that.

Gotta agree with those saying things look fishy as far as our just learning of this goes. Did he pick the wrong gubernatorial candidate?

Dang it, ACK, you must be naming the wrong Paul Stanley.

I just checked his website, and it has a scrolling message of RELIABLE…HONORABLE…CONSERVATIVE…so it just CAN’T be our Paul Stanley.

…unless maybe Paul shared a webmaster (or is that webmistress?) with Mark Sanford and Mike Faulk.

Here’s a photo of McKensie Morrison. What a great smile:

    Elsewhere on that same website:

“McKensie Morrison is currently working for the agency while attending Austin Peay State University.”

This seems to planned out to me…. I am wondering why the TBI didn’t send out a press release after the arrest, like they do for every other arrest?

Just for a little perspective…. Rep. Brian Kelsey and Rep. Susan Lynn accuse Rep. Kent Williams of an off-hand remark about seeing Lynn naked, and the TNGOP wants to throw him out of office. Sen. Paul Stanley has sex with an intern, and…. crickets.

Hmm. This isn’t the same Paul Stanley recently seen moralizing about the need to prevent cohabiting couples (and gay couples) from adopting because of the importance of marriage is it? Oh, wait it is! Well, at least it was a heterosexual affair…

  15. July 21st, 2009 9:34 pm

Maybe he was just exploring sexual relationships so he’d have a thorough understanding of how to determine whether a cohabiting unmarried couple was in one…

This is the biggest problem of the Republican Party. They make themselves out to be PERFECT when that is absolutely impossible of anyone. Williams votes for himself and he is labeled a liar, judas, and God knows what else and is thrown out of the party. I can’t wait to hear Ramsey’s explanations for this one. And this not hitting the media until now? Unbelievable. If I were Williams, I wouldn’t want to be a part of this kind of party, nor will I vote for it again.

Pitiful - adding to it is the other thread where he’s trying to weasel out of it by imp-lying there wasn’t really an affair - by the time its over, he’s super agent stanley, out to catch blackmailers armed with nothing but his - cleverness! and righteousness. Nauseating - and so typical. And the post above is right about the GOP response - crickets. Like Wamp on C Street - crickets.

Note to Sen. Stanley: There’s no time to lose - START BLAMING THE LIBERAL MEDIA. Have you lost your GOP Playbook?

You’ll find the chapter “Blame the Media When A Scandal Arises” right after the one titled “Pretend to Be a Good Christian to Get Votes.”

Here’s another comment that Campfield made on the subject of Paul Stanley’s affair:

“OK, Just for the sake of argument lets say there are photos of a Stanley affair and it was all true. (I have no knowledge of that one way or the other) Is that illegal? No. While unseemly, he has not broken any legal law. To his credit he went above what many would do and called the cops when being shaken down. I am sure he knew when he did, that it would come out and it would not be pretty. He stood up to the blackmailer and did the right thing anyway. A lesser person would have caved, given the money and hoped it never came out.” - Rep. Stacey Campfield

Unbelievable. Stanley breaks his marriage vows and reveals himself as a breathtaking moral hypocrite, and Rep. Campfield is complimenting him on his behavior because he wouldn’t allow himself to be blackmailed?

I expect that if Stanley robbed a bank, hid the cash for months and then surrendered when police surrounded his house, Campfield would praise him for not resisting arrest.

Paul Stanley should be judged more harshly for his adultery, considering how much he has condemned others for immorality.

Similarly, I would be more outraged if the President of MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) were to be arrested for DUI than I would if it was someone else. It’s more outrageous to be guilty of something when you are publicly crusading against it. Hypocrisy adds to the magnitude of a transgression.

One more lying, hypocrite GOP down, and so many more to go. They are out there passing laws on every type of victemless crime, and giving us moral lectures, while privately they are living lives of depravity. These hypocrites, must have trouble keeping the lies that they tell their Republican constituents (often well meaning religious followers) and the depravity that they practice in their personal lives from getting mixed up. Well, due to a more vigilant press and people who no longer will listen to the “do as I say, not as I do,” line, many are being discovered, and driven out of office like rats jumping ship. When will Ensign and Sanford reisgn? They too preached family values. Does not their moral majority party care, as long as it is a Republican doing the adultery and possible misuse of funds to cover up their infidelities?
