A Bipartisan Consensus On Health Care Reform

Posted on July 19, 2009 at 6:20 pm

It’s starting to come together:

Rep. Charles Boustany (R-La.) asserted that an “interesting development” is taking place underway that, if true, could effectively remove Democratic leadership from the driver’s seat on healthcare reform legislation in the House.

“There’s an interesting development occurring behind the scenes, wherein moderate Democrats — so-called “Blue Dog” Democrats — and business-friendly new Democrats are actually starting to have conversations with us to build a coalition from the center outward, to actually really come up with substantive and well-founded healthcare reform,” Boustany said during an appearance on Fox News. “And that’s the only way to do this.”

    Hmm.

I don’t know. Sounds to me like the Republicans know they’re going to lose on healthcare, which the American people want, and try to claim some kind of political credit so the Dems don’t get it all.

And in typical fashion, the Lap… I mean, Blue Dogs will fall all over themselves to help make that happen.

Enjoy it while you can Blues Brothers. Most of you are going to be gone by 2012 anyway. You’ll either get primaried by real Democrats or you’ll be redistricted off the map.

    Been nice knowin’ y’all.

    Not.

    Corn Dawg..

Looks like you have been spending to much time preparing to be served at county fairs to keep up with the changing tide.

    People do not want Obamacare.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Public support for President Barack Obama’s handling of healthcare reform, the pillar of his legislative agenda, has fallen below 50 percent for the first time, a Washington Post-ABC News poll released on Monday said. Obama and his Democratic allies in Congress have run into stiff opposition this month as they try to pass legislation to restructure the $2.5 trillion U.S. healthcare industry through the creation of a government-run health insurance program.

Would it be a good idea to set up a government health insurance company to compete with private health insurance companies?
