VA Legislator Hopes She Doesn’t Have To Resort To The Bullet Box

Posted on July 16, 2009 at 4:05 pm

Catherine Crabill, the Republican nominee for delegate in Virginia’s 99th district:

“We have a chance to fight this battle at the ballot box, before we have to resort to the bullet box. But that is the beauty of our second amendment right. I am glad all of us enjoy our firearms for hunting, but make no mistake, that was not the intent of the Founding Fathers. Our second amendment right was to guard against tyranny.”

Yes, she’s right. Through a well-trained militia. Not individual wackos deciding what is tyranny and what isn’t.

Another glimpse at the nasty underbelly of conservative politics. Respecting the constitution by threatening to trash it … how thoroughly modern the GOP has become!

The liberal Democrats are afraid that our Second Amendment rights will have to be used against them. Thus, they want to take our right to bear arms away. It’s all we have standing between us an and liberal/communist dictatorship.

Yeah, its not like there’s infighting among Republicans. The gun nuts may be aiming at liberals now, but paranoia strikes deep.

Odom, the argument is simple, and has nothing really to do with guns and everything to do with the fact that modern conservatism means paying no attention to the will of the people or the rule of law when things don’t go as planned - from killing abortion doctors performing *legal* procedures to candidates for office threatening armed action if a vote doesn’t go *right*. Add to it Michele Bachmann’s belief - as a sitting representative who’s sworn to uphold the constitution - vowing to break the law a year in advance of the law’s application. And a governor who didn’t feel the need to fulfill her state constitutionally-sworn duties for some ‘higher calling.’ The modern GOP, I suspect, has zero respect for the law and for the constitution.

Hey guess what Odom? I’m a war veteran and a liberal. Just try to use your guns against the govt and watch how fast my brothers and sisters in the 101st airborne kick your ass!

    Give it some time.

I predict that after a few more of these right-wing cowards shoot people they disagree with, the ATF is going to drop the hammer and start raiding all these gun shows and Klan meetings and start putting these terrorists in jail. Then they’ll all have to rely on those “greedy liberal trial lawyers” to bail their redneck asses out.
