By Kleinheider Posted on July 16, 2009 at 3:39 pmAccording to the latest employment numbers released this afternoon by the Tennessee Dept. of Labor & Workforce Development, the manufacturing industry continues to lose jobs at a pace of nearly 1,000 per week.
In the May-to-June reporting period, the statewide economy shed 3,900 manufacturing jobs. That brings the yearly total (June 2008 through June 2009) to 51,000 manufacturing jobs lost in Tennessee.

What do you expect when you have a Government that is going increase or make new taxs on manufactures and other buisnesses
For Healthcare, Cap and Trade, Capital Gains, Corporate taxes, and Tax Dividends and income.
Kinda makes you not hurry and expand your business…. if you dont believe me just ask Governor AUuuuNALD
Congressional Democrats like Barney Frank got us into this mess, and now a Democrat President is going to help them finish wrecking our economy. Everyone needs to stand up to Obamanomics.
Just one little flaw in that theory.
Manufacturing in the U.S. was declining when Bush and the Republicans controlled the government, too.
Don’t you fret, Odom, just keep repeating to yourself “its the gay guy’s fault, it’s the gay guy’s fault…”
Tome Pain
Acctually not really the Manufacturing Decline began in Oct 2007.
The DEMOCRATS controlled both houses of the Money Management Branch of Government(Better known as Congress), not the GOP.
Not to be a nudge, but historically since 1986, when Democrats controll both houses, Deficts soar, and Jobs decline.
1980, GOP gained control of the Senate until 1986, Unemployment Declined from 13% to 5.5%
1987 Democrats gained Control of both houses, Unemployment increased to 6.6% Deficts soared
1995 GOP took Control of both houses, Deficts disappeared and there were Surplus Budgets, until 2001.
2001-2002 Democrat Took Control of the Senate, Deficts went from Surplus to 386 Billion dollars, Unemployment increased to 5.8%
2003 GOP took Control of Both Houses until 2007. Deficts Decreased from 386 Billion to 182 Billion in 2006 unemployment decreased to 4.5-5%
in 2007 Democrat took control of Both houses of Congress Unemployment has increased to near 10%, and Deficts are at 1,800 Billion dollars, and could top 2 Trillion if Healthcare and Cap and Trade become law according to the CBO.
