Republicans Hard Pressed To Say Bredesen Has Made Mistakes

Posted on July 14, 2009 at 8:31 am

Yet by all accounts, the winner of the GOP gubernatorial primary will likely be the general election victor. From Zach Wamp:

I wouldn’t say [Bredesen] has made mistakes, but I do think we need a proactive agenda to create a more dynamic economy. Just managing our problems is only good for so long. We have to start looking to the year 2020.”

Phil Bredesen is the governor Don Sundquist wanted to be but couldn’t, because he didn’t have the natural talent for governing.

I think it’s safe to say that the state Republican Party has no one within its ranks who could govern the state as effectively as Phil Bredesen has. Realistic Republicans know it, too. As did the voters in all 95 counties (including Jim Bryson’s own Republican Williamson County) in 2006.

Zach Wamp being unable to find fault with Phil Bredesen’s goverance is further evidence why he should not be the man to succeed him.

This coming from the guy who voted for the bailout in October.

Which by the way was unconstitutional.

Just what we need: Another GOP congressman as governor. That worked out so well last time. (Not.)

Wamp couldn’t manage his way out of his Manson-like cult group on Capitol Hill, much less handle a state budget or create jobs. At least Ramsey has actually balanced a few budgets.

Oops. Make that “cult group home.”
