No Promises

LeftWingCracker thinks that Rep. Steve Cohen needs to stand foursquare behind the public option for health care. The Congressman, well, he doesn’t like to speak in absolutes:

I also understand the term used often by our hero Ted Kennedy, that “the perfect is the enemy of the good”. However, in this case, I’d like to turn that spin around and say that, in the instance of the public option, half-assed and inadequate is the enemy of the necessary and the acceptable.

It is a good outfit… and at least he’s honest. I think Congressman Cohen is a fine representative of his constituents back home.

So do i. We are just holding his feet to the fire on this in case Democratic leadership is stupid enough to try and pass a bill without a public option.
