Extending Unemployment
By Kleinheider Posted on July 13, 2009 at 7:09 pmNot all will continue to be thrown the life raft:
Beginning Wednesday, Tennesseans whose unemployment is running out can apply for the Tennessee Extended Benefit Program.
“I’m not sure that there’s ever been a time when this many actual Tennesseans have been unemployed,” said Marie Moss of the Tennessee Department of Labor.
As part of the agreement, unemployed individuals must prove they are looking for work. The aid won’t last forever.
“This is it, and this will end in December,” said Moss. “We’re hopeful that things are going to start turning around.”
