Gibbons Raises $.41 Million Dollars

Posted on July 2, 2009 at 4:42 pm

The last GOP gubernatorial candidate has reported his numbers to the media:

As of June 30, the Bill Gibbons for Governor campaign has raised more than $415,000.

“We are thankful for the support received so far, which has come primarily from citizens in West Tennessee who know Bill and his record the best. Their support provides an initial foundation that we will continue to build upon, and that will enable us to implement a plan we believe will win this race,” said campaign manager Josh Thomas.

“This race is about getting the most votes, not dollars. Bill began this campaign with the largest base of GOP support, in West Tennessee, and we have added to it by building very strong grassroots support. We are continuing to work a campaign plan that does not demand we are the best funded candidate, but simply the best candidate. Bill’s message for more and better jobs, better schools and safer communities is resonating with voters.

“We are very encouraged about the months ahead, and the fact that once Tennesseans get to know Bill they will see that he is the best candidate to be our next governor.”

The Gibbons campaign has numerous fundraising events scheduled in the coming months, Thomas said.

Bill Gibbons is the Shelby County District Attorney General, serving as the top law enforcement officer in the state’s largest jurisdiction.

Bill Haslam raised 3.8 million in the same period. Ramsey and Wamp raised $1.3 and $1.2 million respectively.

    Bill,

Let me give you some advice.

    1.FIRE YOUR ENTIRE STAFF!!!!
THEY ARE A BUNCH OF LOSERS AND OBVISOUSLY THEY HAVE NEVER WORKED ON A STATE WIDE CAMPAIGN.

    2. Just don’t report your numbers to the media next time, trust me they won’t notice.

    3. You could just get out of the race now and save face.

    4. FIRE YOUR STAFF!!!! HOW THE HELL HAVE YOU ONLY RAISED $41O WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING?

OK I looked at Gibbons website and see who his staff his ( nobody I have ever heard of) he should let them go and restart. Do donors are going to get on board unless they have major change.

Pretty sad he has been running this long and that is all he can put together.

Fire the mgr and move on.

So ACK tries to bury Ramsey’s competition for 3rd place and then Ramsey and Wamp staffers follow-up and post. Nice teamwork.

With all the cash the other GOP candidates are raking in, Gibbons should hang it up. He can’t compete.

Awwww, helllll! We got a staffer fight.

Not that I have a dog in this hunt, but if I were a Gibbons staffer, I’d start circulating the ol’ resume.

Amen LWC. Haslam’s price-gouging bought this modest home so a Governor’s race is just the next item on his shopping list.

BTW, Elizabeth Corker designed the furniture.
