Ain’t That Some Writ: Bredesen Sets Election For Cobb Seat

Governor Bredesen today announced he has issued a Writ of Election to fill the vacancy in the Office of State Representative for District 62. The vacancy was created upon the resignation of State Representative Curt Cobb.

The Writ of Election directs the Bedford County, Lincoln County and Rutherford County Election Commissions to hold Democratic and Republican primary elections to fill the vacancy in the Office of State Representative, District 62, on Thursday, August 27, 2009. The general election will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2009.

The Writ of Election is issued in accordance with Article II, Section 15, of the Constitution of the State of Tennessee and Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 2-14-202.
