Guns And Bars Lawsuit Filed

Posted on July 1, 2009 at 10:20 am

It’s official:

“I would not file a lawsuit that I did not think had merit,” said Smith, whose legal research showed proponents of the new state law quoted faulty statistics regarding guns in bars policies nationwide. “I think we have a substantial claim for public nuisance and unconstitutionality and illegality of this statute as violating constitutional and statutory rights, particularly due process and the Tennessee Occupational Safety and Health Act.”

Being so concerned with his customers’ safety, I assume Rayburn will be administering a breath alcohol test on all his departing customers and confiscating their car keys if over the .08 limit.

    Riiiiiiiiiiiight.

I wonder if this had occured after the law went into effect if the family could sue the resturant if they DID NOT ALLOW firearms in the resturant.

Hermitage, Tenn. - Metro police said an everyday argument turned deadly at a bar overnight.

Around 10 p.m. Sunday night at the Double E Bar & Grill on Lebanon Pike, two men started a verbal argument inside the bar. Both men were kicked out of the establishment and took their fight into the parking lot.

The fight in the parking lot escalated, and a man in his early 50s was stabbed and killed.

    .. Nuff said.
