Did Hitting Roy Herron On Labor Bill Move Him To Champion Paper Ballots?

Mos def, implies Jackson Baker:

On the score of blogger effectiveness, just ask Tennessee gubernatorial candidate Roy Herron, a Democratic state senator whose dissembling and back-and-forthing on a legislative resolution opposing the federal Employee Free Choice Act was exposed by several attentive bloggers acting in concert. Maybe it was this embarrassment that prompted Herron to redeem himself with progressives by salvaging an endangered paper-ballot initiative. D’ya think?

Yeah, Baker is right, and this nugget made me puke in my mouth a little. What shameless pandering by Herron. “Oh, oh, I blew it with progressives on one issue. Let me pick another to kiss up to them on.” Screw whether or not he actually believes in the issue, just pander.

    Newsflash, Roy Herron:

    1. You still sponsored guns in bars. You are off my list.

    2. The real issue with the EFCA resolution is that you lied about your vote. Get it? You were dishonest. No amount of pandering will restore your credibility. Your campaign is dead to me.

FYI, Senator Herron’s been fighting for paper ballots and secure and verifiable elections in Tennessee for the entire session.

The vote on EFCA happened on 6/8. Here’s video of Sen. Herron from two months ago telling the State Election Coordinator to “man-up” and give him a solution for secure and verifiable elections in TN:

I love ya to death, Mary. I listen to you every chance I get, but . . .

Roy Herron is a lying, pandering career politician. He thinks it’s okay to pack heat in bars. Roy Herron makes me want to puke.

I’m not sure what that has to do with what I wrote, Ben. I’m just saying that what Jackson was inferring is not true. Sen. Herron has been fighting for secure and verifiable elections since the beginning of session - no since June 9.

Oh, and thank you! Ben for the kind words…

Sorry, Mary, I think Roy Herron is a dick.
