Rebutting Obama On Health Care

Posted on June 18, 2009 at 11:33 am

Sen. Bob Corker may take part:

In a Wednesday memo to media and scheduling contacts for the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate, the RNC offered GOP legislators the use of its TV studio on June 24, the scheduled air date of ABC’s planned health care reform special, so the lawmakers could discuss their own health care views in satellite interviews with their congressional districts’ ABC affiliates.

The RNC has offered to pay for satellite time and set up the interviews with the affiliates.

National legislators from the Chattanooga region don’t yet have plans to participate.

“We don’t know all the details of this special, but we do hope that as the media covers this important issue they will present all sides,” said Todd Womack, chief of staff for Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn.

I find all of the pure BS, and pretty well disgusting. Rebut - hell, join in the discussion, not just regurgitate Frank Luntz Talking Points ©

As for ABC being bought by the White House … LOL. For those who remember, this was commonplace back in the 50s, 60s and even 70s - specials on current events, discussion of the white house plan on programs, etc. Remember Jackie’s tour of the white house. Anyone remember the puff pieces on Lyndon Johnson and Nixon?
What isn’t old-hat is the town hall junque - and ABC’s selecting divergent voices, which is probable - good TV today is confrontation, not acceptance. So you can bet there will be contrary people asking questions.
Gee - i think rush and sean and their clones are just cranky cause they’re missing their bi-annual radio broadcasts from the rose Garden that were standard the last few years … remember those thrilling days of talk show days with BushCo.

As for Corker - LOL. He’ll stick that big ol’ finger in the air first …

Mickey, these were personal not issue driven visits to the white house.

Other that announcements of war, natual disasters, signing of bills into law, and calls for NATIONAL PRAYER.

Issues were not delivered directly from the white house.

so, in other words, no issues have ever been covered in interviews or visits to the white house of the hour long variety? you think that when gwb sat down for exclusive interviews from the oval office, it wasn’t to push his agenda(s)? The puff piece NBC just did, that wasn’t also related to budget, etc.

Look - the presidency is the center - its where media wants to focus. No one wants to follow Boehner to his tanning booth. They go to the White House. This ‘issue driven’ special is about something even Republicans *say* they think is important - health care.

Suck it up and get over it. Take your shot in 2010 and just don’t watch ABC - there’s 457 channels, fer chrissake

This is not an interview. This is an infomercial.

Heck.. Obama’s estimate of the cost undershot the cost by 60%. It is going to cost 1.6 Trillion

and he overestemated the number of people that would becovered by his plan by 40 Million

there will be ~40,000,000 people LEFT UNINSURED if they only spend 1.6 trillion. (600 billion more than his 1 trillion dollar estimate).

Not only is it an informercal it is an infomerical for fraud.

You mean the way NBC covered all sides when they ran Rick Scott’s infomercial after Meet The Press 2 weeks ago?

    Right.

    TNVol … LOL.

After the eight year infomercial that WAS the Bush administration, I think the union will survive one night with Obama.
since you’re mind is made up tho, might I suggest ’so You Think You Can Dance’ 0n FOX. More entertaining and probably more enlightening for you than some silly infomercial. :)
