Ruby Tuesday Will Not Be Refusing Service To Customers Carrying Weapons

Posted on June 8, 2009 at 10:26 am

R. Neal has the reaction of Ruby Tuesday to the guns and bars legislation that recently passed the legislature:

He said there are no plans to refuse service to guests legally carrying weapons or to attempt to determine if a guest is doing so. He also noted that guest safety is a top priority, and that management and staff are trained to take swift action to resolve potential threats. He also noted that the company has procedures in place to monitor alcohol consumption and management and servers are trained to avoid over serving.

Ruby Tuesday’s idea of ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’:

He said there are no plans to refuse service to guests legally carrying weapons
**or to attempt to determine if a guest is doing so.**

We don’t wanna know, so we ain’t checkin’ … now I feel real safe at Ruby Tuesday’s - they ain’t checkin’ to find out if people are packing *illegally,* or drinking while carrying … they DON’T WANT TO KNOW.

So, I don’t want to go there …

Thanks, Ruby Tuesdays. You won’t be the only one who sees through the idiocy of posting.

Good thing I never liked Ruby Tuesdays anyway.

Right, so punish companies for following the law and acknowledging a person’s right to bear arms, even if we might agree on their efforts in other political areas like adopting better environmental practices. But “gun carry bad” trumps “environment good,” so kill the business.

JohnnyC, as far as I’m concerned, my family’s safety trumps the environmental good every time.

I wasn’t planning to go back to Ruby’s anyway. Their servers and hosts have almost killed me with the cologne they drench themselves in. Lethal as a bullet. Asthma. The last time I went to the Ruby’s in Columbia, I got a to-go box for leftovers, and the box was so saturated with the server’s cologne that I had to throw the whole thing away before we got home.

I will be going to Ruby’s as I have since December, 73 on the strip in Knoxville. And I will be packin … as I always am. And it will be people like me protecting people like you if some nut comes in wanting to shoot up the place.
