Hobbs Looking To Stay Put At TNGOP

Posted on May 17, 2009 at 1:52 pm

In case you were pondering, TNGOP Communication Director Bill Hobbs has no plans to follow his boss, TNGOP chair Robin Smith, out the door and work on her all but announced run for Congress — at least not initially:

“I have been blessed to work for the most successful chairman in the history of the Tennessee Republican Party and I look forward to working for the next chairman to help build on the party’s successes.”

If you ask me, that statement translates as “Damn, would I like to work for Robin’s congressional campaign, but I’m not going to throw away my meal ticket yet.”

I hope everyone in the office resigns or is replaced. We need to clean house at the TNGOP headquarters. They have embarrassed Tennessee Republicans with their advertising, campaigning against Republican incumbents, & rhetoric long enough. When you can’t even call there without getting an extremely rude person on the line, positions need to be cleaned out.

Any chance Hobbs hooks up with a gubernatorial candidate? Wasn’t he the defacto spokesperson for Jim Bryson?

It is my hope that someone as competent as Robin Smith is selected. She handled the job with passion, conviction, and truth to principals. That folks is something that can’t be said of far too many Republicans in this state both elected & not.
