They Can Flap Their Gums All They Want

Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey spits a line you will no doubt hear on the campaign trail from him in some shape or form almost continuously until at least August 2010:

“Mayor Haslam mentioned a lot about education,” Lt. Gov. Ramsey said. “I’m kind of a been-there, done-that kind of guy. Some of these guys can talk the talk and are good people, but I’m the only who’s been there and walked the walk.”

Ron Ramsey walked the walk but did not finish it and got lost somewhere along the way. Education in Tennessee is one of the last in the country.

Bill Haslam is only the mayor of a city. As far as I know he was never a member of the legislature. He never had the power to make or change laws at the state level but he proved himself in helping the UT students as much as he could.
He balanced the city budget and made a lot of improvements while conducting his family business.
Looking at what is going on in the legislature now, it is obvious that some of the owners of a seat in the state capitol needs to vacate the premises and this includes some of the Republicans.
Most of the constituents in the state had a lot of hopes when the party took over after more 100 years but their hopes vanished very fast after the results of the first session especially when you see senators unable to uphold the constitution on the judicial elections problem What a waste of time and money…. a successful business man would not waste the time and the money of the people he must care for.

If the Republican party wants its candidate for governor to win the race for governor , it better offers a candidate with a solid background and past.
Ron Ramsey may be charming and a good talker but it is not going to be enough.
