President Who?

Posted on May 8, 2009 at 10:12 am

Mike McWherter has a bit of trouble pronouncing the name of our President at Union University’s College Democrats’ celebration of the first 100 days of Obama.

UPDATE:
Amazon’s Kindle also has trouble.

    Wow, that’s unfortunate.

Mike McWherter has plenty of time between now and 2010 to change how he pronounces the name of our President.

But there is one point that won’t change between now and 2010: Tennessee is ready for a candidate whose ideas rise above partisan politics.

There is one candidate who understands that our economy is re-setting and that it’s time for some serious re-thinking.

And that person is Ward Cammack.

Plus, Ward is the only candidate in the race who has until recently been a strong supporter of Republican candidates and who is now running as a Democrat with an Obama sticker on his Toyota Prius — so he will be able to reach out and communicate across party lines with all Tennesseans.

One more plus: Ward Cammack already knows how to pronounce “Barack Obama” as well as the names of all the other candidates from both parties that he has funded.

    “Ward.” Word.

I fixed that for you, Cammackian.

    Summer of George-

I do not drive a hybrid, eat meat every day, do not worship Obama and I live in East Nashville.

Fuck you Summer of George. Don’t get caught coming down Woodland Street with that weak ass shit.

I like what Cammack is saying. Let’s put people to work in green jobs. That’s where the economy is going. Bredesen has started the solar institute and recruited plants that make semiconductors for solar panels. Let’s build on it.

I don’t see what that has to do with this thread, though.

JaStep - It’s on this thread because Mike McWherter thinks Barack rhymes with Cammack.

ENR, you may live in East Nashville, but you aren’t East Nashville. You’re straight-up Inglewood. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

This site is overrun with lurking partisans.

    Transparent and meaningless jabber.

He’s just using the British pronunciation.

    Cammack has some good ideas.

Hardy har har…this is almost too good to be true. “Buh-Rock”. That’s phonetic for ya, there Mikey boy. It’s going to be a long, long campaign for you, but for the rest of us, it will be the best kind of entertainment imaginable. If anyone has any doubts as to the follies and shenanigans that lay ahead,I present to you exhibit A:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSRadqaok14.

Watch the video and thank me later. He even does that stupid Guliani-esque “Here’s my cell phone in case my kids call” bullshit. Priceless.

Mike McWherter is Mike Padgitt warmed over. When he calls himself an Appalachian Democrat, I will throw up. Can’t we do better than this?
