Forrester And Friend Go Upside Ramsey On Ethics

Posted on May 8, 2009 at 1:50 pm

Via a press release from the Tennessee Democratic Party:

Tennessee Democratic Party Chairman Chip Forrester recently criticized Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey for trying to eliminate the Tennessee Ethics Commission. Ramsey supports House Bill 506, sponsored by Rep. Curry Todd (R-Collierville), which would dismantle the Tennessee Ethics Commission and transfer its duties to the Registry of Election Finance.

“This is just another excellent example of why Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey has no business running for governor,” Forrester said. “Shifting the duties of the Ethics Commission to the Registry of Election Finance shows that ethics enforcement is not a priority for Lt. Gov. Ramsey and the Tennessee Republican Party.”

    Let’s see:

    1. He’s trying to kill the ethics commision.
    2. He’s waffled on the selection process for judges.
    3. He’s for legislation that will allow the state to recognize indian tribes (for those not in the know…that means Indians and Indians only will get have gambling establishments in Tn.)
    4. He supports legislation that will alter The City of Bristol’s Charter so that the people cannot recall bad politicans anymore.
    5. Wants to now be able to raise money for his campaign while he is serving although he has previously opposed such actions.

Maybe Ron will come here and see some of the things that Mr. Haslam and Mr. Wamp will be busting his chops on down the road….
