Sources: Jackson Day Postponed

Posted on April 24, 2009 at 9:03 am

Post Politics has learned that Jackson Day, the Tennessee Democratic Party’s annual fundraiser scheduled for May 30 at the Factory in Franklin featuring keynote speaker Harold Ford, Jr. has been canceled. A new date has not been set but should be announced soon.

The as-yet-unscheduled event, however, will be co-chaired by Governor Phil Bredesen and Democratic Leadership Council Chairman Harold Ford, Jr. and will feature “several other prominent Democrats.”

Tickets already purchased for the scheduled May 30 Jackson Day celebration will be honored on the new date or be refunded. More as it becomes available…

Not cancelled, Adam. Rescheduled. The new event is going to include people who weren’t included before. My sources are apparently better informed than yours.

    The as-yet-unscheduled event

Ben, how do your sources explain that an event has been “rescheduled” when there is no scheduled date for it? In my book, “rescheduled” means you moved the event to a set date.

I heard that Will Pinkston waterboarded Chip Forrester.

    Actually, Chip waterboarded himself.

Apparently, the Chipinista trolls think there is some value in throwing around nonsensical comments. Whatever, children.

I’ll repeat what I’ve said previously, the current arrangement is as good as it gets with Chip Forrester as TNDP chair. I’ll do all I can to make it work.

If you Chipinista want to be involved in Democratic politics, there’s a place for you. Prove your worth.

So far, you haven’t shown much.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but the press release from TNDP is the first thing I’ve seen from them that doesn’t sound half retarded. Postponing so you can have a better event? That actually makes sense. And assuming that they didn’t just fabricate Bredesen and Ford’s quotes, then it sounds like they actually are on track to having support of the senior Democratic leadership. Apparently, Chip has spent some time shopping at the Common Sense Store. For once.

I saw where Mike Turner posted on Aunt B’s blog last night. He was feeding those poor people one lie after another over there about whats going on. He reminded me of that spokesman for Saddam in ‘03 who kept saying everything was fine while you could see half the city going up in flames behind him.

What a train wreck. When is this dolt going to resign? It’s spring and the hackeysack tourneys are gearing up. The reformed Dead are about to go on tour. Put some flowers in your hair, Chip, and return to “the people.”

Pinkston SHOULD waterboard the Chipper in the name of professional Democratic operatives everywhere. Tennessee Democrats should be furious with the executive committee for the travesty they wrought.

Let’s see, we had a two-term incumbent governor and a clutch of senior Congressmen - all Democrats - that have never lost an election. Then we had Chip and the bloggers. Who did the executive committee listen to? What a bunch of rocket scientists.

  24. spaz writes

Fuck this. Now I’ll never give a dime to the Tennessee Democratic Party since I know its going to be spent just as stupidly as it was before by people who don’t know how to win elections.

I hope people go to the rescheduled event and boo all these Blue Dog egomaniacs and their sycophant boosters the hell off the stage.

Then we would be making progress.

Maybe they will make on the 15th day of the month. Lots of people keep trying to repeat the number “15″ to me (not because i wish to attend a ‘quince-aneros’party, and I will) but because they have been prompted by the actual politicians whom actually ’sleep with’ a specific girl and her mom, in L’burg Tn. They just tried to make me the ‘cover story’ and they are ’stickin to it’. I actually just dated the mother 1 time (not even knowing she is married to an ole school chum); never the daughter that the police convention enjoys so much. Sorry about mentioning it but maybe the Buzz is the only way to stop it/ them. I’m not there.

Dan, I went over and read that post on the Cat Pants blog, and I have to say that Sharon Cobb made a good point there, though I didn’t necessarily agree with the original attempted outing; and, gee, I don’t know why I think this — yeah, I do — but maybe the blogger in question back then is still commenting these days….
