Conservatism Is A Dish Best Served In Opposition

Posted on April 2, 2009 at 10:11 pm

David Oatney is riled up:

The survivial of our federal republic is more important than putting on some stadium show, speaking rosy words, and drumming up chants of “yes we can.” Winning an election gives no administration, regardless of its political affiliation, a license to destroy the very foundations upon which our forefathers built this country. Conservatives will not allow Mr. Obama, his minions, or his legions to bring this nation to constitutional collapse, and we will use whatever means are necessary to prevent national ruin.

If the Left is afraid that we will not put up with what they are doing to our country and that we will not rest one solitary second until these wicked policies are brought to an end, they have just cause to be very afraid indeed. Every time Mr. Obama so much as opens his mouth, the revolution grows.

We shall never surrender, and we will fight for the right will every fiber of our very beings.

David Oatney is aware that people in this state were killed by a moron who believes this kind of nonsense, doesn’t he? When you start sounding like Jim Adkisson, it might be the time for a little soul-searching.

Ugh. That should be “isn’t he?” not “doesn’t he?” My flabbergastedness gets ahead of my grammar.

Welcome to minority party status, Oatney. Now you know what it feels like to see your country under attack by other Americans.

There’s only one difference. Bush and Cheney really were trying to assert unlimited executive power, infringe on Americans’ privacy and civil liberties, wage an illegal war, and wreck the economy. Obama is trying to clean it all up. Your outrage is misplaced and misdirected.

But I think we both know that this isn’t about the “end of our Republic” or whatever faux-patriotic nonsense you cowards want to spew. This is about you not being able to accept defeat. And accepting the fact that the rest of the country thinks that the Republicans caused our mess and that Obama has their full support.

Man up and take a deep breath, Oatney. Conservatives are going to be in the minority for a long time until they can come up with some good ideas that actually help people instead of making problems worse.

Oh, and hey. I’d rethink some of this militaristic language you’re using and “who should be scared” of who. After all, liberals have the law, the power of the federal government, and the support of the people on our side. Before long, if you folks don’t dial it down a little, the entire Republican Party is going to be viewed by everyone as a bunch of anti-government radicals and you may eventually start to be treated accordingly.

So get a little perspective, settle down, and take your ass-whupping like a man.

Maybe Oatney should switch to decaf…?

Oatney is typical of the out-of-touch, out-of-step, living-in-the-past, crypto-fascist, racist right wingnuts who are shaking their fists at a world that is no longer like it was in the jim Crow days of the 1950s.

Despite what you may think, Oatney — even though everyone else you saw at the all-white teabag event or down at the fundamentalist gay-hatin’ church you go to may nod zombie-like at everything you say — spaz is 100 percent correct. You are in the minority. America has rejected your reactionary, eman-spirited nonsense. The unparalleled failure of Republican control of Congress and the White House is in the past, and likely to stay there for quite some time.

Here’s two words for you to consider:

    President Obama.

    Live with it.
