Haslam Leaves Mayors Against Guns Group?

Posted on April 1, 2009 at 3:32 pm

Conservatives have had a lot of questions about Haslam’s involvement in the group but now Say Uncle reports the Mayor is no longer listed on the website.

UPDATE:
Haslam campaign manager Jeremy Harrell on the Mayor’s disappearance from the list:

Bill has resigned from the group. He did so because he believes MAIG has expanded its mission in ways that go far beyond fighting criminal gun use, including a number of ideas that he does not share.

BLAST FROM THE PAST: In January, Haslam expresses concern that he would appear to be “pandering” to pro-gun folks if he quit the group.

Gee…saw this one coming a mile a way.

Haslam’s been hammered on this since he announced.

Guess this gives us an idea of how he would govern.

Wonder if he and his family are against the state income tax now?

Well, not exactly like he issued a presser announcing he quit or anything, is it?

    This is Haslam demonstrating transparency.

Integrity however remains to be seen.

If this is how you treat people who support your point of view, what incentive is there to come to agreement with you?

I’m not saying you are wrong, but impugning the motives of those who join your cause will result in fewer people doing so. I’d say we are happy that Mayor Haslam renounced his mistake, and that’s all.
