   Indeed. If we ever see a picture of the mayor at a gun range with a blue jacket and Stacey Campfield in the background, we’ll know something’s up.

   First off, this was an orientation outing, and anyone with common sense would understand that during familiarization with novel items, in this case guns, the new user will almost always look, well, like a rookie. Nothing wrong with that, especially with something so novel as the bullpup he is shooting.

   As for Dukakis in the tank, a lot of people criticized him (justly) for trying to polish his liberal policies with a very thin veneer of military familiarization. However, the unjust criticisms leveled against him for how he looked while joy-riding in a tank are wrong, plain wrong. The man looked like any man would look while in the upper hatch of an M1 Abrams moving at speed: deliriously happy. The helmet made him look goofy, sure, but the man was enjoying himself in every picture I saw. Give him credit for that, at least.

   I know that given the chance to ride an Abrams, or shoot a PS90, I would forego worry about my appearance for the thrills.

   Nah, he’s got quite the grip on the AR-15 pics. And he doesn’t look silly in that one listed here. Looks like he’s checking his target to me.
