GQ Drew Stands By His Story That Gore’s House Was Lit During Earth Hour

Posted on March 30, 2009 at 10:44 am

From the President of the Tennessee Center of Policy Research in response to Al Gore’s spokeswoman’s assertion that the Gore’s did observe Earth Hour to the letter:

I have time-stamped pictures of the floodlights illuminating Al Gore’s driveway entrance and several trees between 8:40-9:00pm during “Earth Hour,” which is certainly an inconvenient truth for Mr. Gore.

As I said to my friends on my Facebook page (how amusing is it that a Note on my Facebook page is making national news?), the floodlights that usually light up the outside of Mr. Gore’s mansion were dark and most of his inside lights appeared off. But many of his windows were lit with a blue-ish glow that is usually the result of a TV screen or computer monitor.

I understand that when you consume nearly 20 times more electricity than the average American, you can spend all day turning off your lights and still miss a few. I’m sure this was the case for Mr. Gore.

Since this was a Note of my Facebook page and not an official press release, I encourage Mr. Gore to take up any complaints or disputes on the Wall of my Facebook page where it can be appropriately discussed.

Nothing says “Keep out, crazy stalker-man!” like an illuminated driveway entrance.

Heard Drew yucking it up on the radio this morning and was wondering if Michael DelGiorno’s blasphemy made him at all uncomfortable.

I guess Al and Phil will be ‘livin the dream’ there at their homes in Belle Meade; them and only the best freinds money can buy. I mention Mr Gore on my web-site and I offer it to you now.

Why does Gore need to live in a mansion anyway? What’s wrong with an apartment in the city?
(I mean, if we’re really facing an apocalyptic crisis and all).

“Why does Gore need to live in a mansion anyway?”

You people either want Americans to live up to their full economic super-awesome-be-all-that-you-can-buy Capitalistic potential or you don’t. You can’t have it both ways. We’re at war. Pick a side.

GQ Drew has been livin’ large on that single story he planted about Gore’s house consuming 20 times more electricity than the average U.S. household. No one in the media has ever bothered to dig a little deeper into the story and found out it has waaaaay more holes in it than a block of Swiss cheese.

The reference GQ Drew used compared Gore’s single family residence in Belle Meade to every other residentially-owned building in the U.S. That includes houses, apartments, trailers, outbuildings, etc. Those inclined to cut Drew some slack might call him disingenuous. Others might call him an outright liar.

Gore never pledged to live life “off the grid”. He’s not anti-electricity, he’s critical of how we generate our energy as a nation.

Besides that, Drew has a rather bizarre history of trespassing on the property of, and peeking in the windows of people he’s trying to target. Creepy.

Because he and his family are more important than yours. He will tell YOUR family how to live to ’save’ the Earth, so he deserves to live better and use more. He’s better than you!

I read on WorldNetDaily.com (http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=93315) that the World Wildlife Fund estimated that 1 billion people across the planet took part in “Earth Hour,” and they said it was “the world’s first-ever global vote about the future of our planet.”

Let’s see how the votes stacked up:

Number of ignorant people who believe Al Gore and the man-made climate change B.S. - 1 billion

Number of rational, intelligent individuals on the planet - 5.77 billion

Not falling for the propaganda - priceless

This person named “ster” needs to get his facts correct. After Gore bought the house he started installing solar panels and he buys (at a much higher rate) electricity that is produced from renewable sources (solar, wind).

I would assume so since two of them are of the exact same thing… wouldn’t do that if you had photos of three different things, would you?

I didn’t participate in this and think it’s a bit of a joke given how far it falls short of letting people know exactly what sacrifice we’ll eventually make to cut CO2 emissions, but I don’t think it was a requirement to sit in the pitch darkness (or read by candlelight, I guess?).

And aside from the giggle-worthy notion that you can make a judgment on anything from an online posting of a digital pic by a not-too-reliable source … as to solar light “voltage” vs. “brightness,” I suggest you do some research before displaying your ignorance.

So let me get this straight. The people that believe the sky is falling and that we can spend our way into prosperity think they are at WAR with the rest of us? Now Mary, you look like an intelligent individual and I am more than certain that you believe we went to war because BUSH LIED right? And I am certain you believe in that passifism is the correct way to behave, right? So why do you believe that we are at war? Do you fight or use diplomacy? Do we believe that Al Gore, the inventer of the internet and most things green, would lie? You better believe it. He has a majority position in Occidental Oil, by the way Teddy Kennedy also has an oil company, Al is selling carbon credits and he has stated that in no uncertain terms that the “Debate is Over” but excuse me, there was never a debate and the majority of the folks that were used to promote “Global Warming” are having to sue the UN to get their names removed from the propoganda.
Now you can have your war but you cannot have my country without a fight.

Easy to talk the talk, walking the walk is what shows if a man is honest. Living in a 9000 sqft mansion with spotlights on the trees is not a sign that the man is honest.

One would expect a man trying to save the planet from carbon overload would live in a house that was a little less energy intensive to build and maintain.

Most Americans would love to live energy independant with solar panels and the such but simply cannot afford it. This man could if he wanted to, and makes millions advocating that all of us should while flying around the world in private jets making speaking engagements.

By his actions, it is nothing but a con game. Actions speak louder than words.

First - the goal was “necessary” lighting. No one was expected to unplug their refrigerators and sit silently in the dark for an hour. The exercise is for all of us to THINK about what is really necessary for us to use and start reducing what isn’t needed.

If I owned a 9,000 sqft mansion and Secret Service people were assigned to myself and my family, my security lights would be on too. They didn’t turn off street lights either.

How many of you out there were online, watching the lights “go off” just to see how different the cities look?

Yeah, safety advocates recommend that your house number be kept highly visible so that emergency personnel can find your home. For that reason, it would be necessary for the Gores to keep the lights illuminating their house number on at all times, even during Earth Hour.

For Earth Hour, I don’t think you’re supposed to turn off any appliances that you have to leave on. We turned off all our lights,TVs and computers, but we didn’t unplug our fridge. Our food would have gone bad. We also didn’t unplug the clock radios in our bedrooms since we would have had to reset the time(clock radios don’t use that much energy, anyway).
