Al Gore Leaves The Light On For Ya

Posted on March 29, 2009 at 12:00 pm

Even during Earth Hour. President of the Tennessee Center For Policy Research Drew Johnson takes a Saturday drive by Al Gore’s during the time most environmentalists went dark:

I pulled up to Al’s house, located in the posh Belle Meade section of Nashville, at 8:48pm – right in the middle of Earth Hour. I found that the main spotlights that usually illuminate his 9,000 square foot mansion were dark, but several of the lights inside the house were on.

In fact, most of the windows were lit by the familiar blue-ish hue indicating that floor lamps and ceiling fixtures were off, but TV screens and computer monitors were hard at work. (In other words, his house looked the way most houses look about 1:45am when their inhabitants are distractedly watching “Cheaters” or “Chelsea Lately” reruns.)

The kicker, though, were the dozen or so floodlights grandly highlighting several trees and illuminating the driveway entrance of Gore’s mansion.

I [kid] you not, my friends, the savior of the environment couldn’t be bothered to turn off the gaudy lights that show off his goofy trees.

This, of course, would be the same Drew Johnson who exposed Gore’s excessive energy use at his home back in 2007.

UPDATE: Gore responds to accusations.

UPDATE II: Drew Johnson stands by his story.

I definitely believe in climate change. In fact, yesterday it was 39 degrees, and today it’s 44. At this rate, by next month it could be 30 degrees warmer!!!

What I do find humorous is that the climate models used to predict all this calamity in the past, failed to predict the cooling trend that has been happening for nearly a decade. But still, all the sad and lonely people who want everybody else to feel their sadness and loneliness, cling to the hope that global warming is real. It’s their only hope to force us all to be aware of the pain and suffering in the world.

But, if global warming proves to be a bust, no doubt another crisis will be generated. However this time it will be one that can’t be observed by the average person.

If you are up on the latest science, you would know that the theory of evolution is going the way of the flat earth and the earth is the center of the universe science. Read Dr. James P Gills book “Darwinism Under the Microscope” to understand that “irreducible complexity” had been scientifically proven and Darwin himself said that if that were ever to happen then his theory would be proven wrong as well. Read the book and then argue with the idea that there must have been, at least, intelligent design of the universe.

YES, I am absolutely certain that it is a HOAX perpetuated by Al Gore for the SOLE purpose of enriching AL BORE, who owns the company selling the carbon credits. As someone else mentioned, 35 years ago a similar group of scientists was worrying mightily about “The Coming Ice Age” as the headlines on Time and Newsweek put it. If the globe can go from an impending ice age to global warming in just 35 years, then it can just as quickly reverse and become global cooling, which is what had been happening for about the last 10 years. Why would you believe the man who claims erroneously that he invented the Internet? Also, didn’t you read about the man who is called the scientist’s scientist said that he doesn’t believe in AGW either.

From the 1975 Newsweek: “The Coming Ice Age”
“A survey completed last year by Dr. Murray Mitchell of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration reveals a drop of half a degree in average ground temperatures in the Northern Hemisphere between 1945 and 1968. According to George Kukla of Columbia University, satellite photos indicated a sudden, large increase in Northern Hemisphere snow cover in the winter of 1971-72. And a study released last month by two NOAA scientists notes that the amount of sunshine reaching the ground in the continental U.S. diminished by 1.3% between 1964 and 1972.”

Actually, KK, until the last couple of years, it was your side that was stuck on warming, and we skeptics of AGW (or AGCC, whichever you prefer at the moment, til the next change of terminology comes) were the ones trying to tell people that the earth has always undergone cycles. Warm, cool, back and forth, across the aeons. We’re the ones who have believed in climate change all along, just not man-caused warming, cooling, change, or whatever combination the Statists come up with at the moment. Oh, and P.S., I believe completely in evolution, an ~ 4 1/2 byo Earth, and ~ 13.7 byo universe. Try leaving your arguments to logic, not ad hominems.

Have you noticed that all these environmentalists always assume that, somehow, we’ll be able to come up with new, more efficient forms of energy to power cars, planes, provide electricity, etc? They never want to consider the possibility that it might be impossible to accomplish this goal. Because then they’d have to say “Damn that Henry Ford, damn those Wright brothers, damn that Thomas Edison. They got mankind hooked on all these new fangled thingamajigs, and now we’re destroying the planet. We’d have been better off if all those things were never invented and we were still living like the 19th century.”

If they say something like that, they’ll look like complete loons. So instead, they give themselves and everyone else a pass to continue driving their cars, taking plane flights, using electricity, etc, as long as we are “committed” to perfecting all these groundbreaking inventions so that they stop destroying the planet.

So here’s my question to all you environmentalists…..how’s that cure for the common cold going?

I sure have had a good laugh at some of the friends of Al. Al doesn’t discuss global warming. He preaches his junk science as if in church. His face twists up while he screams at the zombies, warning that the end is near. In the meantime, he flies in private jets, lives in a huge mansion, and doesn’t even participate in the big dark out. He’s smug and arrogant, and won’t debate scientists who disagree with him. He’s nothing but a common pitchman at a carnival. I have an inconvient truth for you. Type “limousine liberal” on wikipedia and Al’s face will pop up. A great big FAKE! LOL!

Susan, regarding your soapbox: I think what you’re referring to is the Second Law of Thermodynamics (not Thermal Dynamics). And what it says is that, as a whole, the universe will evolve toward “disorder/chaos” over its entire existence. However, this is a universal law, not a local one. Local in this case can be viewed as our solar system. And as long as there is an energy source (the sun), the tendency towards increasing “disorder/chaos” (or entropy), can be avoided as long as that local energy source is available (even though entropy on a universal level is increasing). So no, thermodynamics is not an argument against evolution.

Please understand that NO POLITICIAN practices what he preaches. If he did, the world would not be in the shape it is in. They all have agendas, whether it be liberal, conservative, green, or whatever. They use any and all means to achieve their ends. If you think George Bush ever gave a hoot about the evangelicals, you are living in a dream world. His father told him to court them as a political base and to do that, he had to appear to be one. Gore appears to be green, Obama appears to be liberal. But they all are after the same thing-to gain and keep a power base. If good things come from that, it’s a plus but if not, so be it. What a d-bag. “I use tons and tons of energy, but its all okay because I purchase carbon offsets from my own company.” Well, if we could all come up with a con job of the scope of AGW then we could all have mountains of money and buy carbon offsets with a tiny fraction of that money while spending the rest on yatchs and private jets. As a matter of fact, I’m gonna take my own advice. I’m plotting the next big ticket liberal agenda item that will make me rich at the cost of everyone else while simultaneously restricting everyone else’s rights but mine and my friends because we excepted our selves of course.

By the way buckobell, the problem is that you just want a leader to tell you what to do and absolve you of all personal responsibility rather than thinking for yourself. If more peopele would follow suit and abandon the comforts of childhood and the nanny state, it would resolve many of our current problems. I would include AGW on that list because if more people thought for themselves that term would be on its way into the history books.

Buckobell, I recognize that the tone of the conversation here thus far has been contentious, so I want to try and strike a more conciliatory tone. You’ve hit upon perhaps the most fundamental difference in liberal and conservative worldviews. Conservatives aren’t proposing that everyone follow us so that we can give them the right life, give them what they need. We don’t presume to know what would be the right life for each individual in America. Rather, we want to protect the restraints on government that allow individuals to go and create the best life for themselves. Do I know how to run your life better than you do? Does Obama? Does Al Gore? Apparently the latter two believe they do in fact know how to run your life. They’re going to tell you what cars to buy, what produce to buy, what light bulbs to use, what transportation you will use, how long your showers should be. They’re going to get your kids in public school as early as possible - hence universal preschool - so they can raise them properly. Please, do not think we want Al Gore’s job so we can do it better.

I mean look, every time I turn around you are hearing of some environmentalist who is a fake & in turn make the ones who are true to it makes them look bad too & I live in Cincinnati,Ohio and almost 99% of the downtown city was lit up on Sat evening for that one hour. They care so very little for the environment. Cincinnati is ran by P&G, & P&G says jump & Cincinnati & the EPA asks how HIGH!!
    2nd of all,now we’re hearing this about PETA;

So today, I hear about Al Gore & PETA. my heart is heavy & so very sad.. Please believe me, not all environmentalist & Earth lovers are fake. They said that PETA is worth $32 million & here they were keeping these poor animals in an old freezers & in 2008 out of over 2000 animas they found homes for “”7″” & they killed the rest & then here Al Gore preaches to try & to conserve energy & they say he uses more then anyone. Is his whole house solar powered? Did he think because it was solar powered he could leave his electricity on? Does ANYONE REALLY KNOW??
Well I am going to continue recycling & preaching global warming & animal abuse too. Oh & if you would, please watch this video & do not watch it in front of children, very graphic. its all about animals.

Let’s turn out algore’s lights & let him and Muslim BO know the party is over.

People tend to either credit lawyers and judges far too much or discredit them to the extreme. The truth is lawyers and judges are greatly restricted by the privilege of license or of office. The people who are patriots have far more freedom of action and far less restrictions in our society.

Did you know that any citizen patriot can bring a criminal case against Barrack Hussein Obama in the County in which they reside? You do not have to be an Attorney General to indict a ham sandwich or a Barrack Obama. If a patriot had evidence of a crime committed by the 2008 BO campaign and that patriot presented said evidence to a sympathetic Grand Jury with a charge of conspiracy to commit said crime against Barrack Obama, that patriot could get BO indicted like that proverbial ham sandwich.

You might wonder how you get evidence against BO and members of his 2008 campaign? There were many newspaper, internet blog and TV reports of crimes committed by BO’s campaign workers all across the USA in 2007 and 2008. All you have to do is perform a google search to begin to write your presentation of criminal information for the indictment of BO and his co-conspirators in your County.

You might also give your friendly Sheriff or Police Chief a call and see if you can get some assistance from local law enforcement personnel in gathering evidence against the BO campaign.

As for global warming, it is not man-made. The earth has been warming and cooling forever. Just like the economy and political power, they are cyclical in nature. It doesn’t take an Ivy league elitist to understand that. Actually, it is probably too basic for someone that intelligent to understand. Let us not forget these basic things:
    - the poorest person in America is still wealthier than 3/4 of the world.

A friend of mine has a word for all that horrible carbon that’s polluting the air we breathe. Since Sir Al Gore has stirred up the minions about our disastrous future if we don’t follow his tenets and clean up our air and our cities, we should officially call it “Gore Gas”! Imagine if we all used that name for cow emissions, auto emissions, etc. He’d have a resurgence of fame!

    OK, OK…

    Here are some facts:
    1. Drew Johnson said he drove by Al Gore’s house and saw outside lights on, namely tree floodlights and blueish hue from behind the curtains.
    2. Al Gore denies this is the case.
    3. There is no conclusive proof either way, so we are left with a “he said/He said” situation, not good enough for even the most kangaroo court.

Getting to other aspects of the dialog here:
    1. Betting your kids’ future that you’re right? I do it every day. Shame on you for using FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt) as proof of a point.
    2. When teachers say that someone needs to get a job, perhaps the teachers should do a better job, or just quit all together. since funding for education has doubled in real dollars between 1971 - 2001, apparently we are not getting our money’s worth. Perhaps we should try something different, like vouchers.
    3. If we go by the premise that Al did have his lights on all night (or at least during earth hour), or even if he didn’t, he has enough negative credits against him in the environmental hypocracy tally (private jet, 9000 sq foot house, yacht), he would be as credible as Ma Chalmers. Perhaps he can answer the question, “Who is John Galt?”

[...] Here is the story: Even during Earth Hour. President of the Tennessee Center For Policy Research Drew Johnson takes a Saturday drive by Al Gore’s during the time most environmentalists went dark: I pulled up to Al’s house, located in the posh Belle Meade section of Nashville, at 8:48pm – right in the middle of Earth Hour. I found that the main spotlights that usually illuminate his 9,000 square foot mansion were dark, but several of the lights inside the house were on. [...]

Most of the folks I know who have designed their homes and lives around solar and wind energy are conservatives. They are not driving ‘green’ hybrid vehicles, but are bicycling, utilizing animals, and even ’shank’s mare’ for transportation. They use compost piles to discard most of their generated organic debris, and recycle everything from discarded wood to discarded plastics into usable items. They grow and process their own food, even “gasp” hunt and fish to fill their freezers. They don’t do it because they believe in global warming, but because they appreciate the technology and savings that enhance their more natural lifestyles. And yes they are conservatives in their politics, but don’t necessarily believe in creationism or Jesus. What THEY resent is the government and proslytizing, snake-oil-salesmen-type individuals trying to run their lives and profit off of what they already know - that a natural and self-sufficient lifestyle is cheaper and better for their soil and health.

There is no reasoning with liberals - it is their only religion, and like most fanatics will defend it to the death, no matter what rational human being stands in their way. We can think for ourselves, TYVM, and need neither AlGore, Obama, nor their hysterical profiteers to scream constantly in our faces, ordering us to fall into line like good little lemmings. They are not here to ’serve mankind’ - unless you mean in the old movie tradition “It’s a COOKBOOK!”

Anyone want to buy some carbon credits? I utilize organic farming and rotational grazing, too.

The company was established to take financial advantage of new technologies and solutions related to combating “global warming,”

KC said: I imagine those of you who do not believe in climate change also believe in creation over evolution. You see, there is scientific proof of climate change as there is for evolution. There is no proof whatsoever of creation, or for that matter that any of you has a brain.

KC: step outside your door and look at the birds, the trees, the oceans,..then look up at the stars and the moon, and go read Genesis 1. Don’t stop there, then read Romans 1: 18-36. You might want to check out: http://www.thegoodpersontest.com

We CANNOT save the planet, it is reserved for fire on Judgment Day. However, if you humble your heart and believe that the moral Creator provided a payment for your crimes against the Judge of the Universe (who WILL do right!) by sending His Son to condemn sin in the flesh, God can legally dismiss your case. This is the verdict, light has come into the world, and men love darkness rather than light, because their deeds are evil. Men haven’t changed since Adam-their hearts are wicked, they hate God without a cause, and are as opposed to God as the devil himself. Men are morally corrupt and spiritually dead creatures. However-your creator God is merciful. Once to die, then the judgment. Men will believe anything as long is it’s not God. Men KNOW God but reject the truth. When Jesus stood before Pilate, Pilate asked (after having Jesus scourged -a practice which commonly forced truth from men), “What is truth?” He did not wait for the answer…and walked away. I pray it not be so with anyone reading this post. http://www.evidenceBible.com

Unless they are 100% sure that Global Warming Is Going to Destroy our World, these actions being discussed could actually do more harm then good,
both to our economies and to the environment

Apparently Mr. Obama’s new science adviser said that global warming is so dire, the Obama administration is discussing radical technologies to cool Earth’s air, such as shooting pollution particles into the upper atmosphere to reflect the sun’s rays, even though it could have grave side effects or using so-called artificial trees to suck carbon dioxide—the chief human-caused greenhouse gas—out of the air and store it. (Funny - I believe this is the approach Dyson was heckled for suggesting.)

Go to the proceeding of recent summit of the International Conference on Climate Change - http://www.heartland.org/NewYork08/proceedings.html - Global warming trend has stopped and last 5 years temperatures have been falling. Scientists all over the world are making note of this. It appears polar bears are increasing AND in 5 of last 7 decades global cooling has continued despite an increase CO2.

I had heard that one of the reasons might be related to sun spots and it turns out that sunspots are historically correlated with temperature on earth. When the number of sunspots is low, the earth’s climate turns cold, possibly for decades. And that appears to be what is happening.

The problem is: If we are in a period of low sunspot activity and global cooling, then the changes demanded by Warmists, especially the conversion of crops to fuel use or what they are now suggesting could do a lot of harm, and I would think that what this administration is now suggesting could have disastrous consequences.

Gore is manipulative genius. Why? Because he’s not out to save the planet, he’s out to make himself wealthy…whoever can’t see this as blatantly obvious is simply brain-dead. It (Gore) preaches that everyone should do everything in their power to be “green”, while he does nothing. His carbon-credit idea is nothing but a wealth-generating machine for him. It’s interesting to me, being a student of science myself, that people invoke the concept of “belief” in relation to scientific endeavor.
Science rests on the bedrock of proof and truth. You don’t have to believe something is true if it actually is, it can be demonstrated beyond a doubt.
Somewhat like a court of law doesn’t allow prosecution and conviction of a crime just because the prosecutor “believes” the defendant is guilty, solid proof beyond reasonable doubt is requisite.

I suppose I should have learned long ago that I can not understand the policies of the left-wing secular-progressive ecowarrior global-warming alarmists because I am trying to apply logic and rational thought to a group in which neither is involved.

I can’t disprove the THEORY of global warming, just as much as no one can conclusively prove the same THEORY without a few hundred thousand to millions more years of data.

All we are doing scientifically at the moment with our limited climate data is the equivalent of turning on the lights in a room for a second and, seeing a single cooking pot in that second, concluding beyond all doubt, ie. blind belief, that this room must be the kitchen.
Later you may find if you can turn on the lights for a minute, you’ll see the same pot along with a bed, some other furniture, some old dishes, trinkets, boxes and so forth. When you have more access to the required data, the room you believed was a kitchen turns out to be a storage room. In other words, you allowed your belief in the limited data to overrule the logical action of reserving judgment until all the required data was collected. In other words, you bent your outcome to match your data.

One of the most honorable virtues of science is admitting you’re hypothesis, in light of collected data, doesn’t match the result you desired.
Edison tried to create the light bulb unsuccessfully hundreds of times before he got it right.
Are you sure we can predict the actions of a biological system including the interconnected effects of countless natural processes, make a conclusion based on these billions of constantly dynamic factors, and BE RIGHT THE FIRST TIME?

No THAT is something I have trouble “believing” in.

I thank VP Gore in trying to clean up the Earth, but with right-winged theories, the truth is not cared for. If we keep going in the same directions that we have been going for the last 200 hundreds years, there will be folk on Earth. We will have destroyed all iving things on Earth. There was a movie that I saw many years ago, and it showed the Earth so polluted that masks had to be worn, and only the rich had meat to eat and it was grown in an enclosed environment. I believe it was green something. It was an eye opener for me.

Al “do as I say not as I do” Gore is a blowhard that needs to visit a good proctologist to find his head. His excessive energy use shows he’s a hypocrite when it comes to “protecting the environment.” He says he offsets his usage by paying for carbon credits. That’s 100% the southern output of a north-facing bull. If he was SERIOUS about his so-called beliefs, he’s be setting an example, not spewing the lunatic ranting he engages in. It’s too bad that “global warming,” now called climate change, is proving to NOT be caused by human interaction with the environment. There are dozens of reports by reputable research institutions all over the world PROVING that global temperature changes correspond to solar activity. This blows the Church of AlGore right out of the water but unfortunately, he’s got enough money to make his stupidity heard over scientific proof he is wrong.
